Came today for a reserved dual birthday. Lunch at 1. No one at host podium. That entryway small bar area area empty but someoneâs sweater tossed at end of bar. A man walked by eventually with a little girl trailing behind. He said heâd be right with us. After a few moments he led us to a table that certainly should have been ready and was. So youâd think someone might have been welcoming to us at entrance? Servers friendly enough. Got waters quickly but then drink ask came up. Server took orders and walked right past birthday person number one (today75) sitting at head of table ?!?! He finally came back to check on drinks and my husband (birthday person) got attention and was able to ordered a beer. Our orders arrived haphazardly so we werenât wanting to eat until all orders filled. Birthday person number two (today 20) didnât get her food for at least five minutes after everyone else, and we all waited minutes between delivery of our orders. It was awkward. Finally, even though no birthday person wanted dessert I had alerted staff to the two birthdays. At the very least they could have âsurprisedâ and brought even a candle in a dish before the bill so we could maybe sing happy birthday. Very disappointed. Food good enough, service certainly off. Wish you good luck in this space. I know I wonât...
Read moreWe were in Collegeville to take our son out to dinner. He's going to school at Ursinus. Looking for a good place close to his campus I came across the Library. I was able to make a reservation online right from Google Maps for that evening. There is plenty of off street parking in their lot. I was greeted by the hostess, she was very friendly and seated me right away. There are a few different seating areas including the bar. We sat at one of the booths, they were a touch tight. Our waitress was excellent, she made sure we didn't want for anything but she wasn't overbearing either. They also had bus people that were very quick to clear plates when done. The menu isn't extensive but there are pastas, meat/chicken and fish dishes to satisfy everyone. They have a good drink selection, enough beer and wine options too. The food came out really quickly and was piping hot! We tried the Margherita Flat Bread as an appetizer, that was very good. I had the salmon which was fantastic. They did a slightly different take on a cheesecake dessert that was fabulous! Very cool vibe, excellent food and equally good staff. We paid about $35 per person including a...
Read moreWe really wanted to Love this place. Had reservations at 7 PM last Sunday. We each ordered a drink and sat down in the leather âlibrary areaâ. Drinks were great, bartender excellent! Moved into the dining room which looks nice, but loses the Library look and was a bit bright. Ordered braised, short ribs, and the New York strip. Execution was diner like. Mashed potatoes were in a scoop shape, Brussels sprouts in the next corner and the short rib covered in gravy in the next. Strip Steak came medium rare as requested, but was the pin bone end and only had lackluster french fries. Again, no plate presentation whatsoever, no veg or garnish. We had a bottle of Pessimist blend, which was enjoyable. The waiter was very attentive. We ordered the bread pudding to take home that appeared to have been heated up in the microwave. Our bill was $150.00 for 2. The food wasn't bad, just not good. Highlight was the drinks. With a bit more attention to the food and presentation this could be an...
