Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Collinsville

Food was great. I'm hooked on their summer special cotton candy blizzard. Also had the chicken strip basket which is delicious, served hot. Could've used a little more butter on the toast but that's a small complaint. My only real complaint is when we were ordering I said, "I'd like 2 six piece chicken baskets," and the worker asked, "Four or six piece?" 😐 Uh... Six, obviously. Then at the end of the order I said, "That'll be all," to which I was immediately asked, "Can I get you anything else?" I realize that it's hard to hear on drive thru headsets sometimes, and that these people have a routine so he might have blurted out "Can I get you anything else" out of habit, but I think paying a little more attention would improve customer service. Placed my order at drivethru where the clerk told me theyd have my price at the window. Waited in line five minutes. Get up to the window and the clerk tells me she doesnt know what i ordered because no one typed it in and she didnt even know WHO took my order. I told her i ordered a fish sandwich. Then she acts like she remembered my order but says it has to be cooked to order (which i was aware of and angry about because they wasted five minutes of cook time), and asks me to pull into a parked space to wait. Another five minutes later and she finally walks it out. Took way too ling. Not fast food at all. Wont be back since they clearly dont care about customers wait times. Im on a limited lunchbreak.

Very limited menu. Not diverse at all. Zero maincourse...

Just left Dairy Queen, Fries are super cold and old. Taste like grease. Taste like grease haven’t been changed in months! Fries are super dark can’t even enjoy the meal. Paid almost $20 for a 6 piece basket only thing was fresh was the chicken even that was a nasty weird taste from old grease . Thought I was coming to get an amazing FRESH meal and I get a slap in the face with old food. Waited 10 mins on my order at the window thinking everything was getting cooked fresh so I didn’t complain about the wait but the fact I just wasted money is completely unacceptable totally disappointed. Total waste of time gas and money and to think it’s 4 workers inside with no one making sure food food goes out...
