Denny's — Restaurant in Collinsville

After walking up to the door and seeing a sign that said to go orders only we go in we Order our food We asked why to go orders only? The server proceeds to tell us that the kitchen got too hot today. And that they had inspections tomorrow, so they were told just to clean and Due to go orders. After replaced our orders, about 45 minutes later. Our food was just about ready. We were told it would be about another fifteen minutes The server goes to make are shakes that we ordered and instead of making 2. She decides to make just one end, mixing a strawberry shake and an oreo shake when clearly She even repeated back to us at the beginning that it was 2 separate shakes. Then proceeds to tell me that she only charged me for 1 anyways I said OK no problem. I will pay for the other one. And I set the money up on the counter, as I'm getting ready to leave. The money is still sitting there. I said here's the money for my other shake. She said oh I wasn't that worried about it totally forgot about it. As we're sitting there, waiting. The cook goes outside which he was out there when we came in. Out on his phone There was another couple that showed up after us but ordered first Not quite sure how that happens, but OK. As she's giving them their food, the guy says oh, don't you think you should take this money for my order end the server Said oh, it's okay, takes the man's money and proceeds to tell him That she wasn't worried about it if she would have got in trouble. She had the next three days off and didn't really care. Then I get home to open our plates and start to eat and When I open my tray, I see onions mushrooms. Peppers. None of which I ordered on my food. I ordered a meat lover's omelet. Meat and cheese that is all I picked off more onions, peppers and mushrooms. Then there was meat on my Omelette Then open my other tray. That is supposed to be stuffed, French toast. And as I asked, the fruit was To the side in a separate container, but there was no cream cheese that is supposed to be inside it Then to top it off my fiancé, open her plate and she ordered A slam burger the most chewy rubbery burger I've ever seen in my life. Or tasted, as well as the bread was chewy as well She ordered a over. Easy egg on top of it. It was over hard. I have worked in the food industry personally and couldn't even think of someone complaining this bad about any service that I would ever have, given. I really hope that you can step up. You're screening process or training or something? Because there wasn't even a manager there. When clearly your Can't cook and your server. Needs to be taught how customer service goes. I will never return to this Location ever if I could have gave less than one star. I would have done that I mean seriously. This is the service a couple that comes in and spins. I normally don't write reviews but I am doing so hoping that someone will take note and do something. I have been coming to this location for a while and am friends with one of the cooks (who always does a great job). I am used to stellar service but, last 2 visits have been (within a 3 week window) have not been good at all. I went in on a early Saturday morning about 1:30 pm. The woman who was supposed to be my waitress (while name I will not mention out of kindness) abandoned me after asking if I needed more time to look at the menu. another waitress came after what seemed like forever and said she would take my order but I decided to wait on the other one to try to be nice. It became rather apparent that I had been abandoned so when the other waitress came back I let her take my order and I seen the other waitress from time to time waiting on other people. I cannot imagine what I did to deserve that but I just let it go. I was in last night at about 6:00 pm. I don't know what was going on but everything was slow. It took forever to get a waitress, it took forever to get a drink, and it took forever to get my order. I don't know who's fault it was so I can't comment as to that. I also overheard other customers around me who had been there longer than me and were still waiting. There were a few people in the restaurant but not enough that I could see a justifiable reason that everything was getting backed up so badly.

In short this location is going downhill, and it would be wise if someone in charge took appropriate action. It saddens me to have to write such a review. I am a very patient person but I feel that the way the waitress treated me on my January visit was quite uncalled for ( I was already having a very rough night emotionally, and the way I was treated did not help) I will only tolerate things for so long and then I won't return. I am not sure what to do about coming to this location again late night on weekends after that as if I am going to feel very awkward if I have to deal with the waitress who treated me this way. I will say that if it happens again, I will not be able to return. So to those in charge, you would do well too take the negative reviews as of late very,...

Came to this location, even though I live much closer to the Glen Carbon, il location. Reason being is that the Glen Carbon location is complete 🚮! My Wife got food poisoning there, sooo when I can get her to come to a Denny's it's always the Collinsville, il location. Well that's going to stop because even though I love Denny's they don't seem to love me back. The waitresses are ALWAYS NICE! But anyway, The last time I was there I ordered the new black label bacon that's supposed to be soo good. Well it was overcooked and old, I didn't say anything because I figured it was a one off so I gave them a pass. Well my mistake because I went back on Aug 21st around 1pm.

Right after my family got a table, without sitting down I immediately took my 3 yr old son to the restroom, once i got up to the front i noticed the cook come from the back n look in the area where we were seated and just kinda looked for a min, then he walked back to the kitchen... not sure if it was a coincidence on what he had served to me, but i think it was because of my race, i could be wrong but i kinda doubt it. Never seen a cook come from the back to see who he was cooking for.

Anywho...I ordered the same thing as last time... WHYYY did I do that???! This time the bacon was even WORSE, MUCH MUCH WORSE! It was old, cold, and overcooked! What made it so bad is that when the waitress brought it out she told me that it didn't look good, she shouldn't have even brought it to me, but she said that the cook told her to take it and serve it anyway, even after she brought it to his attention. I was very offended by this, I mean why would you serve that to ANYONE?! The nice waitress went n got me fresh bacon, but I was still upset about the trash being served to me in the first place.

When i went to pay the manager gave me a few dollars off after she asked me how everything was and I told her about the old bacon.

I've been eating Denny's for decades, sadly this may be my last time. Despite them having nice waitresses and managers, they definitely have...
