I've been going to this location for years mainly for the drinks and an occasional dessert. I often mix my drinks at the soda machine with a minimal amount of ice. If I'm in the mood for orange flavored Sprite, I use less than 1/4th cup of ice, then fill 1/3rd Hi-C and 2/3rd Sprite. My favorite is less than 1/4th cup of ice, fill 1/3rd with Dr. Pepper and the rest of the 2/3rd with Coke.
Well, after their recent lobby and kitchen renovation, and opened their lobby earlier this week, I discovered the new atmosphere is more unwelcoming, staff and management hidden from view, lobby seats and tables were much lower and looks like it'll be harder to get up from the chairs, and no soda machine in the lobby. Star Wars Empire vibes.
So I asked one of the employees what happened to the machine, she pointed to the new machine in the kitchen through the new doorway and I saw the automated dispenser for sodas. No more choices of mixing drinks (no refills?!) and now it's automatically dumping too much ice in each cup. Their mobile app does not allow the choice of light on ice nor the mixing of the drinks. I was floored in a bad way like it felt like McDonald's wants to remove their customers' bodily autonomy, our right to choose how we want our food or drinks prepared.
BIG MISTAKE!
That automated drink machine is a total dealbreaker. I'll use up my reward points and stop going to McDonald's completely. What a poor decision they made with their...
Read moreI come here almost everyday because I live so close, sometimes there are employees stationed at the ordering posts (the electronic ones). One time I went over there with the employee, I had a coupon for a $1 McFlurry and I told her that, then I pressed the go on button and she started arguing me down saying “why did you press that??” And I told her it went through because at the bottom it said “Deals:1” and the total was $1.06. Then she kept arguing me down “no no, I was telling you not to press it because it didn’t register, it’s supposed to be free” and I said “NO, the coupon said $1” then she started smiling because she realized she was wrong. Then she went ahead and pressed done, when I wasn’t finished and on those machines you can’t go back after you finished done. After I said “I wasn’t finished” she said “well, go ahead to the counter and finish it” Terrible service.
EDIT: My rating went down to a one star, I ordered ONE large fry and that’s it. After waiting 15 minutes and then not calling my number I went up to the front counter and asked for a refund. The employee told the manager I need a large fry and the manger immediately came with one. Where was that speed when I had just ordered? I declined and asked for my refund in which they...
Read moreI frequent this McDonald's, or at least I did. It seems that in recent years, the standards have lowered significantly for this particular store. There have always been issues but this last time really irked me, This store really seems to prioritize drive-thru, not that it's an issue but the fact of the matter is, please have someone up front. There was no cashier, not greeter, not a soul in sight for 8 minutes that we stood to order. One Hispanic lady walked by a few times, not a hello, or an I'll be right with you or anything.
Like I work in customer service, and we are pushed to at least greet a client but these people didn't even do that. She avoided our gaze, my parents are old fashioned and did not want to use the new tablets, mostly because they don't have a debit/ credit card, they wanted to order in person.
All in all, this location just seems so dull and lifeless. You can no longer smell the food like you could once before, it's dull with muted colors and employees are hidden away from sight. Leaving a guest to feel left out, like I get that sometimes we get busy that we rush but like c'mon.. at least say hi or something. Only possible way to get taken care of is through drive-thru...
