I was quoted to pick up at 8:25pm and when I arrived I was told there was one ahead of me...no worries I was a few minutes early. In the meantime a bagged order was sat on the counter BEHIND the red cubbies, not in a cubbie. A man walked in at that same time to pick up his order and sat down to wait. No one ever asked his name or anything. 10 minutes later I said to him that I thought his order might be the one sitting on the back counter getting cold. He jumped up and asked the counter girl, she looked and sure enough it was his. He was not happy and tried to tell the girl behind the counter and was actually ignored. Now mind you I'm still sitting there waiting on my order that was supposed to be next...it wasn't, someone else came in and got their order right away. I'm still waiting and by this time I've been waiting nearly 30 minutes! I asked a girl from the kitchen, who brought out yet another order, about my order. She said let me check and went back and came back out with my bag. It was right at 9:00 pm when I finally got my food...35 minutes later than I was quoted! To top it all off our food was cold when I got home...4 minutes from the restaurant. That tells me that my bag must've just been sitting back there for some time. $55.00 wasted on overpriced cold food! We never have torchys because of the prices, but wanted something new and decided to splurge. Lesson learned, never again! Thanks for the huge disappointment! Something told me when the first guys food just sat there, to just cancel my order and ask for a refund. Wish I would've listened to my intuition! With your prices being what they are, y'all should be doing better than this.
Oh and your stupid "tell Torchys" thing doesn't work...wouldn't submit. So here I am leaving...
Read moreHappy to send this review as Torchy’s has made it easy to write so highly of the establishment and its employees. Leading, the food is incredible and a massive, massive upgrade from Fuzzy’s (where I was once a regular) and the esthetics are also much better designed. I am always in a good mood when spending time at Torchy’s but the food sends it over the edge (excuse my jargon). I have tried most tacos, favorites being the Green Chile Pork or Baja Shrimp but honestly, like I’m sure the founder intended, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Moreover, what compelled me to leave a review tonight was my fantastic bartender Ariel. I have known her for a bit but her service, reliability, and kindness is truly second-to-none in the Springs. It is so refreshing to have a competent bartender provide outstanding service while also being extremely personable. Torchy’s has my highest recommendation for restaurants in the Springs for those who are searching for a more lively venue. Ask for Ariel and enjoy the food! I will be spending a significant amount of time at the venue. Simply outstanding! Don’t waste your time elsewhere and those who recognize how Fuzzy’s has gone downhill,...
Read moreSuch an odd, odd experience.
Started a tab at the bar and was told I could order food on the same tab. Then when I went to order food 10 minutes later, I was told there are two different systems. Ok, not a problem but when I asked to pay for just the food separately, they said they would figure it out. This was after the cashier held us up with jokes and nonsense, while there is a line back to the door!!
Go eat and our group wanted churros. Go up to order and I am told by the cashier that they will be covering my bill because of the misunderstanding. I did not agree and asked if I could just pay for my food AGAIN, while my request for churros was completely ignored. This goes on for a few minutes until the cashier asks that I don't post a review about my experience!?!? Really?? I was dumbfounded and slightly insulted.
At this point I close my bar tab, and then had to INSIST that the manager charge me for my food. I ate, I will pay my bill!!!!
I really wanted to like this place because it's right around the corner, but after this experience, I will not be returning.
I will say that the food was pretty good and the only reason for...
