I’ve gone to this business since it opened, and today will be my last trip there. This was one of the most insane experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. The owner totally lost her mind. We ordered about a dozen items and also a tea service. We had a party of six. Food and tea were good, wait staff was good, though we did not receive four of the orders of gyoza (dumplings) we ordered. We waited for quite awhile and it was no big deal so we eventually just decided to check out and let them know we didn’t receive the dumplings we ordered so they could take that off the bill (we’re talking like $25 on a $150 bill.) As we politely and calmly mentioned this as we were checking out, the woman who is the owner immediately began shouting at us at the top of her lungs—like a complete lunatic. No discussion, just instant screaming. She accused us of lying and kept saying the customer is not God. She was screaming over and over saying she wanted the truth. It was so embarrassing and we were like, “we don’t know what to tell you, we didn’t get the dumplings and we know the difference between the items.” She kept pointing at the pictures of the dumplings on the menu and we said “yeah, we never got those, go look at the table”. She kept screaming at us and her staff—the staff was sweet and it was horrible how she attacked them too—not sure what she was going for with all of this. Eventually we offered to pay the whole thing even though we didn’t get these items just so she would stop yelling. The entire restaurant was staring and it was so uncomfortable. She just kept yelling that she wants the truth. She wouldn’t let us pay. It was nuts. We were about to call the cops, but finally she let us pay and we left. We had planned to buy some tea after our meal but instead got out of there as soon as she finished her screaming. It was shocking and we will never, ever go back there. It’s a shame because the food, tea and staff are great, but the owner is unwell and abusive. Her behavior is dangerous to her staff and customers, and we hope she gets help for whatever mental health issue she is suffering from. In the meantime, stay away.

Saw owner responded. Wild. She is lying, not that it matters, because she’s lost customers and will lose more. She can’t treat staff and customers like this. Also, what? Lol. She says she went to a random table and asked customers if they saw us get the dumplings among many dishes ordered and delivered to the table? Haha. Also, nobody in our party said we got the dumplings. We said we got the chicken steamed buns not chicken fried dumplings. Perhaps we should have helpfully pointed to the photos on the menu for her so she could understand the difference, like she did for us. Also, we’re talking a small amount of a large bill. Why would we lie about this? We didn’t get the dumplings. We paid for the dumplings, got abused and berated by a crazy person, and got out of there. Silver lining though after reading other reviews: sounds like the dumplings would have been overcooked anyway, so...

Are you looking for an amazing tea place? What about some tasty tea? Do you enjoy different smells and such? How about nice and pleasant employees? Then look no further, you've found the place to be!

I've been here numerous times but this is my first time finally leaving a review. I think it's well deserved.

Since I've last come here, they didn't have boba tea and milk tea options, which is a nice added bonus. And if it isn't on the menu, they can make it, just ask and see. I got the Strawberry Matcha Boba Tea. It wasn't too bad but I think next time, I'll get some natural sweetener added into it.

Besides the Boba Tea, everything else is amazing! There are so many kinds and types of teas! Ranging from Black Tea, Green Tea, Herbal Tea, Oolong Tea, White Tea, Pu-erh Tea, and Chai Tea. As from what you can see, they have plenty of options. From just guessing, in total, they probably have around 100-200 different brands of assorted natural teas.

This place is amazing! Once you arrive and talk to the employees, they will tell you it's $5.00 for the traditional tea ceremony and go pick out the tea you want. You can smell the tea you would like to have brewed at your table. And oh, you either pick, the modern tables to sit at or the traditional tables where you sit at. Either way, it's amazing. There are sweetener leaves called Chinese Blackberry Leaves and you can use them to sweeten your Tea if you would like. Let's not forget the food they serve. Ranging from Meat Buns, Veggie Buns, Gyoza, etc., they have a bit of options to keep you busy.

You know what else is amazing? They have traditional tea sets that you can buy and take home. Or even buy for a friend/family member for a gift. All are different prices and they have travel sets too. If you want to brew your tea on the go, they also have thermos or even the glass double chamber tea brewer. Let's not forget the glass pitchers of tea varying in different sizes.

If you want to buy tea leaves and brew them at home, you can. Usually they are sold by the oz and vary in price per ounce. However, they also have different flavors of tea in a small and medium container near the window, near the front counter for either $12 or $18.

No matter what you fancy, Yellow Mountain Tea House has a little bit of everything for everyone.

I highly recommend y'all coming to this place. Bring your friends and family! Surely you will not be disappointed at all. I give this established a five out...

If I could give zero stars I would. I have been coming to this tea house for a few years with friends and family and the staff was wonderful! Didn’t feel rushed or disrespected. There was a wait on the food, but I didn’t feel like it was terrible. The last few times the owner has come in and that’s where it started going down hill. This spot I used to feel comfortable coming to now suddenly became filled with rude encounters and people who didn’t know what they were doing. Starting from the top, the food was good but cold, the tea brew was taken by the owner after the second brewing without much communication as to why. She just walked by and took it from us without an apology later. Then when asked about it, she said “there was no brew left if that makes sense” with an attitude. The other tables who were there before us still had their brew pots. It didn’t make sense. The entire time I felt like we were unwanted and doing something wrong. When asked if there was a limit on brewing, she said no, yet still took the tea without a refill. Later, we were asked to leave considering they had poor planning and were giving away our table. Looking around, there were plenty of other empty tables. Plus, there were other tables there that had been seated way longer then we had been yet we were asked to leave. I was upset, but understood and asked for a brew to go (which was never denied before) and the lady said they have never done that. Then contradicted herself a minute later by saying she’d put it in a to go cup. We waited a few minutes (roughly 10 min) and we went to the front to pay and the lady who said she’d grab me a to go cup was sweeping the floor. Needless to say I never received my to go tea. I felt very disrespected and singled out for doing nothing but trying to have a good time. The owner is rude to her employees and skimpy with her food. She yelled at her employee for putting to much soy sauce in the bowl before returning with a teaspoon amount of sauce. I’ve heard her continuously yell about other things and the employees seemed very on edge. Disappointed because it used to be an awesome place! But it’s definitely going down hill. Most likely...

We were visiting Colorado Springs during Thanksgiving week. We went on Saturday and window shopping along Colorado Street. We were also looking for an Asian Restaurant. This place was very busy and offered dim sum and tea service. We didn’t have reservation since we were walk in. We decided to wait and it was over 30 min. It was well worth the wait since the 3 teas we picked and the experience was great. The dim sum were delicious.

We came in around 1230, peak lunch time. This was our first time visiting Yellow Mountain Tea House and we were really excited. Our visit started off a bit on the bumpier side, it took a few minutes before we were acknowledged in the back kitchen/tea area, which we didn’t mind due to the lunch rush. The first thing we were asked- in an almost accusatory tone of not having one, was if we had a reservation. I didn’t recall anything saying we needed a reservation for dine-in. I tried to tell the woman helping us that, but she was talking over me telling us that next time we should make a reservation and that they have one table available this time. I looked on Google maps and their website after we sat down and didn’t see anything about needing a reservation. We were told to pick our teas after ordering our food, which was a fairly easy process, and then sit down at the table- but we kind of fiddled around for a little while not knowing we were to grab the whole glass jars of dried tea we wanted to drink. When we figured that’s what we were supposed to do after watching a couple who seemed familiar with the process, we had no idea what table we were meant to sit at, as we were never shown the table. We kind of just walked to the back area behind the kitchen and sat ourselves, not knowing if we were sitting at the right place- we assumed so, since the woman who checked us in mentioned they only had “one table left”. We had a different woman, I sadly don’t recall her name, do the tea ceremony for us. She was awesome and very knowledgeable. Told us about the teas and the ceremony, a little bit of history. That was a great experience. The teas were delicious and the food came out in waves as they were made- no complaints there, it was all delicious! We got a couple free samples of iced fruit teas and enjoyed those too. Our experience didn’t start off too great, but ended on a phenomenal note. If we take the trip to visit again, we know the process now, and will make a reservation if during rush times- just to avoid the unpleasantries we received when we didn’t have one this time around.
