We went there today after my husband finished shoveling the snow at his work. He kept our baby with him while I ran to the bathroom real quick and when I got back, he said that our waitress had come up to talk to him about what we wanted but since I was in the bathroom, he decided to wait for me to come back. Once I came back, we just sat at our table for a little while and wondered if we were ever going to be served. Then, a waitress came up to us and told us the other waitress (Kelly) wouldn't be able to take care of us and she was now our waitress (Lysha). That alone irritated me a bit because she helped my husband when he was by himself with our baby, but once I came back she no longer was able to help?? Then, another waitress yelled across the whole restaurant saying that Kelly wasn't doing table 52 or whichever we were at, asking another waiter if he wanted us. I guess we were just being thrown around at will for whoever wanted to help us. Lysha also wasn't a very good waitress. We saw her constantly checking up on other tables and she only asked if we needed anything twice and one of those times were when we were getting the check, because she wanted to seem better than she was and get a good tip still, I assume. The food also came out pretty close together, I hadn't even eaten half my appetizer before our main courses had come out. She didn't clear any of our empty cups or plates we weren't using either, so we were playing tetris trying to get fit everything on the table but keep it out of our 8 month olds reach. She didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. We asked for an extra straw and never got one until we asked again. I would understand if it was busy, but it wasn't. Half the restaurant was completely empty. And we didn't get one of those little computer things so I wasn't able to put in my rewards number and got no points for our visit. We come here relatively often and usually have a pretty good experience but today was just terrible. I left in a bad mood, feeling like an unwanted guest in someone's house. I'll go to a different location...
Read moreI was in Denver last Friday and had some extra time to spend. As a result, I saw the Chili’s and knew that the usually deliver solid service and food.
The open seating bar area wasn’t the cleanest, I had to wipe it down but it’s not a big problem in this case. I noticed that there was only one bartender for the entire bar on a Friday night - the least I could do is wipe off the table.
Service took a little while, but after I ordered the food was delivered swiftly. I ordered and received both items within 8-10 minutes. That’s fast!
Chips and Salsa (bottomless) and the chicken crispers were both nostalgic for me as I’ve had them several times. Both consistent food options that don’t disappoint. The Chili’s signature thin chips were hot and had a generous amount of salt. The salsa was how Chili’s salsa always is - loose, mild and pair well with their chips.
The origins (beer-battered) chicken crispers were served warm and had consistent breading throughout. The chicken was juicy and had no gristle. The tangy bbq sauce might not be everyone’s favorite, but gets the job done.
The broccoli was surprisingly done very well for a typical chain restaurant. Usually chain restaurants overlook “basic” vegetable sides, but this steamed broccoli delivered flavor and had a great texture (not mushy).
The black beans were needing a little bit of pepper, but we’re probably my least favorite item on the plate.
I wish they had cinnamon apples as a side (retired a long time ago as a side dish) because they were fantastic.
Overall for $20, the amount of value & for you receive (especially during happy hour specials) is hard to beat.
Rating it 5 stars for what a Chili’s promises to be. An American chain restaurant that delivers consistent hot food while facilitating a...
Read moreWent to eat at Chilis today and had a pretty good time for most of my visit. Anyway, I get the check, and there is a $2.99 charge for a “game pass”. I bring it up to the waitress and she responds “yes your son was playing games the entire time”. And of course this was obvious because I’m sitting across the table from him. But I kindly let her know that I, my young child’s dad, did not approve that charge. The waitress responds back that “oh, well you have to approve it 4-5 times before it changes you.” And my response again is that I, the adult, did not approve any charges. It is ILLEGAL to try and charge someone money for a service approved by a CHILD!
In the end, she finally stopped arguing with me about a child approving a purchase that she expected me to pay, went to her manager and the manager gave the thumbs up to take it off the bill, so she did.
Now look, some might say that $2.99 is not worth disputing but I was astonished that a business would try and charge me money for something that was approved by my child. Children cannot provide consent for purchases. That’s the law.
To the owners: you are opening yourself up to a huge legal liability. You should really go in and make it so that a parent must approve paying for games on a device that you leave on the table. Also, I don’t appreciate my waitress arguing with me about something that my son approved and that Chili’s allowed him to approve without my consent. I am the customer. I am giving your my business for a service. If the service comes with pointless, illogical arguments, I’ll take my...
