Where to start. Parking lot has horrible design, it's impossible to get in or out of a parking space with the drive through line stretching through the parking lot. Their whole system was designed by a kindergarten kid. It's not that hard. One person takes orders at counter, one person gets the orders together and double checks them. One in the kitchen. Two making the ice cream orders. That's not the case. There are 3 employees trying to take orders, run drive through, and make everything. It was a mess. Waited 30 minutes for low quality chemical filled ice cream. The cherry cone tasted like it dipped in candle wax. Waited 30 minutes with 4 people ahead of us. Doordarshan, drive through, and interior line clearly too much for them to handle. They don't have time to make ice cream, so clearly don't have time to keep the place clean. For the extra buck or two, go to Butterfield's or Coldstone. The highlight was an employee turning a blizzard upside down and subsequently pouring it all...
Read moreI went to this Dairy Queen yesterday and I went through the drive thru for a cone. I was a little taken aback by the fact that none of the young girls working in there with each other and customers were wearing masks. The pandemic is not over and they are service people and, even though they may be vaccinated, one can still get and give the virus - especially young people who hang out with friends and siblings. This is just not acceptable at this juncture of this pandemic. If you go anywhere without a mask at this time, vaccinated or not, you are tempting fate.
Also, I gave the girl at the window my debit card and she disappeared for a full 2 minutes with my card. I had my cone half eaten when she returned. I felt this was odd. Taking someone's card and disappearing from sight is not acceptable at all. I am not accusing anyone of anything, but it is a very bad practice. Because of this, I am deactivating my card and getting a new one. Just a word...
Read moreThis pains me to write. We enjoy the ice treats at Dairy Queen and go regularly but this is going to change. Our visit this evening was an eye-opening. We saw a cook in the kitchen with long hair and no hat, visor, or hairnet. I hope no one got a surprise with their dinner. I saw an employee making ice treats push down the trash with her bare hands and then continue to prepare food as though this was a normal behavior. I saw another employee in the dining room remove overflowing trash with his bare hands. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he washed his hands before preparing food again but I'm not very confident about that. The ice cream prep station was dirty with spillage and melted ice cream. It would take less than a minute to wipe down that station. Makes me worried about what I didn't see and it makes me feel that this is likely normal behavior. Sorry...
