IHOP — Restaurant in Columbia Township

Food was good, but got the order wrong, then our waitress and the manager were obsessively rude to a person with special needs (that was quietly sitting there and not causing any harm.)The waitress rudely told him that "I've been working all day and I can afford my food." Then the manager comes over to the man and say" if you have no money then you have to leave, we need the table." The man proceeds to get up and leave still holding the glass of water (probably didn't realize it) and the manager yells at him "No the water stays here!" The man put the water back on the table after the manager publically humiliating the man for the second time, and bows his head in embarrassment and leaves peacefully. I then ran outside in the wet cold rain the man was walking in in only his hoodie and gave him a $20 to go get a warm meal, from a DIFFERENT place of business, he was very appreciative and thanked me multiple times. I told him to go get something warm to eat from somewhere else. We paid our bill and against gut instinct gave gratuity to the disrespectful waitress as they live off of tips. I and my two other paying customers will NEVER go back to Columbia Missouri IHop for the reason that they can't simply treat people with special needs like human beings and for the lack of mangerial skills with dealing with such customers. Just disrespectful...

I don’t like eggs so when I asked if I could substitute them for something else she said no, unless you want to pay an up charge. I said no, I’ll just not eat them. So when she brought my food out she said she went ahead and gave me extra bacon instead of the eggs. I was so happy….. until I saw the bill and she took it upon herself to change them AND charge me for the substitution. For that I will never go back! Don’t act like you did me a favor then charge me for it.

Also, the entire place was VERY dirty! After going to the bathroom and seeing how disgusting it was, and I don’t mean just from the day. It was obvious it never gets a good cleaning as the edges of the floors and corners were caked with black and the metal that holds the walls was broke in half, they rigged it to stay together and the trim was literally Duck tapped to the wall! After that I can only imagine how dirty it is in the back where they cook. But the food was actually good if you don’t think about how dirty it probably is. However, with that said I did have black pieces all over my stuff which is from the grill not being cleaned often. There was trash all over the floors in the main section and waitress area and there was some pink goo, almost like icing on the table cards they use to...

They are better than the other breakfast places in town with similar ratings. We went for breakfast yesterday and everything was delicious and our server was fun and lively. Had the best biscuit of my life yesterday.

Edit: this location has sadly disappointed multiple of the last visits. The food is still good but sanitation has plummeted. We have walked out twice in the last four or five times we've came and extremely disappointing because we drive across town to get there. Today we have a soccer game to get to and are limited on a time and had to walk out because the table hadn't been wiped down properly (crumbs and syrup all over along with smears of wet washcloth from their attempt of wiping down), creamer spilled all over the floor, crumbs all over the seating. I don't trust that the food is clean if they can't even clean a table right. Less than half of the tables had people sitting at them, so there's no excuse for how filthy it was. I'm not sure that we will come back. It's extremely embarrassing to have to walk out of an establishment and they aren't taking the hint that they need to clean better.
