I ordered a godzilla roll and a volcano roll for lunch two days ago. PRO's: rice was properly cooked, raw fish was reasonably fresh and the tuna not taste too old. The salmon had a good color. The sushi-chefs station looked very clean and the staff was very polite. They use the better, higher quality white pickled ginger instead of the artificially dyed pink stuff. Con's: very limited fish selection, only tuna, salmon, and snapper. rice was smashed too hard on the nori. The Califormia roll mix and TNT/dynamite mix (krab and "schrimp") are pre-made mixes, the same mixes used in gas-station sushi. The fish was pre-sliced in the display case, which exposes it to oxidation. The "seared" tuna on the godzilla roll was blow-torched and a lot of the rice was burnt black as a result (see picture, the black is burnt, not sesame seeds). Also, the torch wasn't burning cleanly and left a strong propane-kerosen-soot flavor. The volcano roll had too much spicy mayo (also store bought, see image), like, so much spicy mayo my arteries started crying. On second thought, maybe I was served a mayo roll instead? No nigiri. No salmon skin roll on the menu (which is my favorite). The paper boxes make the food feel cheap and disposable and are very wasteful of natural resources, and not recyclable. Almost every roll has cream cheese or mayo. If you like the sort of sushi served at an all you can eat Chinese buffet resturaunt, or that's available frozen at wall mart , this place is right up your ally. It's not at all spoiled or dangerous... it's just not good. There are almost a dozen sushi restaurants in Columbia in addition to every large grocery store, where you can buy a roll from. Kenko just isn't good enough to stand out positively. My 2cents, stick to the tea at kenko, and then go next door to Hyvee for sushi, or any of the real sushi restaurants.

Two bentos, spicy tuna and tuna. The spicy tuna was very strange: a formed patty of tuna which was baked or torched. The other tuna was thinly sliced and then baked/torched. Way too much kewpie mayo on both. The salads were good, the maki were ok (tuna maki was a little fishy). Waffles and teas that were coming out looked great, would definitely try those in the future. If the poke bowl tuna was not the same bento tuna, it could be good. The vegetable bowl options are a little lacking. Worth a try if you're in the area.

The flavors are fine, the bubble waffle ice creams are Instagram worthy, but this place is an extremely poor bang for your buck. Everything tastes ok, but the prices are significantly higher than their competitors and their portions are ludicrously stingy. $14 poke salad was fine, but my wife's $10 eel roll was stuffed with fried egg with barely a few pencil shavings of unagi. $8 waffle cone sundae looked really appealing but only had one half scoop of ice cream under a bunch of whipped cream.

I live 20 minutes away from Kenko. This is now the 2nd time I have spent over $60.00 on several different sushi rolls. 1st experience, I received the wrong sushi roll. Tonight, I ordered again and spent over $60.00. I asked for sauce on the side, which it also says on the recipe. I knew I should have checked my bag before I left. I get home and the sushi roll has the sauce on it I requested to be on the side and now I will throw it away. Completely unacceptable and I will not return.

we got boba and sushi, and both enjoyed our orders! we tried the kenko milk yes and honey tea, and both were very good - the boba was well cooked, and the tea was flavorful without being overly sweet. the milk tea was affordable too, although i was surprised that there was an upcharge for boba. we also tried the fox roll, which was amazing! in the roll, i enjoyed the tempura crunch paired with the smoked salmon, avocado and shrimp. the prices are reasonable too!

This place has the best boba I've tried so far in Columbia!! It's hard to get the tapioca pearls right, but they got it figured out to the point where it's tender, but not too soft, and with a light sweetness. I also got two different sushi rolls, the Volcano roll and the Alaska roll. They were both very tasty. I'll definitely be coming back here to try more sushi rolls and to try out their pressed torched sushi. Service was very fast and friendly as well.
