I am only giving one star because I could not give zero stars. We came in with a large party to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The red headed lady, Joy, who I can only assume was the owner already had disgust on her face. She sat our party at 2 different tables. We had come from the zoo so some of our party had already eaten. After our drink order, she got mad because the people that had already eaten were “taking up a table”. Mind you, they were absolutely not packed. There were only two other small tables with customers. She left that table and started talking smack under her breath in Korean. When I countered her in Korean why she was mad, she said we were taking up a table, even though there were 2-3 other tables completely empty. We left and they lost about $300 worth of business because of her attitude. Don’t go here if you actually want to eat, because they obviously cannot feed a number of people.
Also, the male bathroom had a sign that says, “if you miss, clean up your piss”, which is rude and completely inappropriate for an establishment that has families with younger children coming in.
I can only imagine how miserable this woman must be to work for. The service here is absolutely terrible.
EDIT TO ANSWER BUSINESS RESPONSE: From your rude comment as a business owner, and calling me a liar (bad move since I had 11 other people with me that saw what went down) it proves that you have a bad attitude and aren’t willing to accommodate customers. As I said, you sat our party separately and the ones that had eaten were going to try food first because they had never eaten Korean before. They most likely would have ordered at least bulgogi. Also, you don’t have to give water for free, that’s your own ignorance.
Also, like I said, you weren’t slammed with business when we walked in. You barely had any. There was no line to get in the door, and even with us seated there were still empty tables.,So it looked like you could have used the business that you lost out on (and we would have orders a lot). It does not matter to me what the other customers thought. Your rotten, unprofessional, and belittling attitude is what mattered. Mumbling under your breath in your mother tongue, on the dining floor because you’re mad and think other people won’t understand you, is a terrible business practice. And you never know who speaks your language, even if we don’t look like you. You’re in a military town, near the military base, you should give mind to who is listening to you.
Lastly, we will definitely not be back the next time we are in Columbia, and I’ve already let friends in Columbia know not to visit your restaurant because of how rude you were. I’m glad we didn’t get your overpriced food. Next time I’ll throw down 김치찌개, 떡볶기 와 불고기 in my own house where I k ow the food and the service...
Read moreStepping into GANG NAM KOREAN RESTAURANT felt like stepping back into the cozy streets of Pyeongtaek-si. The air was filled with enticing aromas, instantly transporting my friend and I back to our incredible trip to Korea. This place is a true gem for anyone craving authentic Korean flavors. My friend couldn't resist the spicy pork, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The meat was tender, the sauce was fiery yet balanced, and the portion was generous. It was a flavor explosion that had her reminiscing about her favorite Korean street food. I opted for the gyoza and ramen with cheese. Now, I know cheese ramen might not be the most traditional Korean dish, but trust me, it was incredible! The gyoza were perfectly pan-fried, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The ramen broth was rich and flavorful, and the addition of cheese added a creamy, indulgent touch. I also grabbed some rice on the side to have with my Ramen like in Korea. 🥰 But what truly elevated our dining experience was the authenticity of GANG NAM KOREAN RESTAURANT. The banchan (side dishes) were plentiful and delicious, offering a delightful array of flavors and textures. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're searching for an authentic taste of Korea that will transport you back to your travels or give you a delicious introduction to Korean cuisine, look no further than GANG NAM KOREAN RESTAURANT.
10/10, we can't wait...
Read moreI decided to try them out because of the reviews; therefore, when I arrived I ordered from the lunch menu. This is after the waitress came to the table and didn't greet me or anything. That was strike 1. When she brought the sides it literally consisted of two pieces per dish. I stopper and asked to exchange the three sides I don't eat for the three I do. I was automatically told if I don't want I don't eat. In my thinking I'm saving you products by not wasting;therefore, why not exchange them. Nevertheless, the final situation was when the waitress brought out the food. First, the meat was burnt and 2nd the rice had an egg on top. I'm allergic and I said as much. The waitress then said that she don't want to serve me. I agreed because I didn't want the food. I work to hard and times are to stuff for me to beg a restaurant to take my money. Especially since she acted like she didn't want me there since I walked in. And yes I understand different cultures and people act different but I've been around people long enough to know the difference. Therefore, despite the reviews the service was bad, the food appeared burned, and the attitude...
