Aladdin's Eatery Clintonville — Restaurant in Columbus

We came on a Friday at 5pm. There were 1-2 other tables being served. Host was kind and seated us quickly. There were employees chatting in the kitchen and a table of employees sitting in the dining area talking. After about 15 minutes no one had taken our drink orders. I let someone know and then a server came to take our orders. She was nice and apologized for the wait. She brought us warm pita which was pretty good. Our food came out - the kabobs, chicken, kafta, salads, and sauces were good. However, all of our rice was cold. Like refrigerator cold. I found someone and let them know our rice was cold. They offered to bring some warm rice out, but by the time they heated it we were about done eating the rest of our meals. We tried some of it and it was still not heated thoroughly. I’m intrigued that they didn’t have a fresh batch of hot rice ready to go on a weekend night. I’ve been to a different Aladdin’s location and had a good experience, but won’t plan to return to...

I have eaten several delicious Middle Eastern meals over the years at Aladdin's Eatery Clintonville.

Yesterday [9-9-2019], an out-of-town friend had wanted to share a meal with me -- and to have an extended conversation with me -- at a vegetarian or vegan restaurant in that neighborhood -- immediately before both of us would be attending an important meeting several blocks away.

Aladdin's Eatery Clintonville had been the obvious choice.

I ordered and ate Beef Shawarma Rolled [lightly seasoned strips of lean beef, greens, tomatoes, onions, turnips, pickles, chopped parsley, and Tahini Yogurt dressing]. My friend ordered and ate a large plate that had appeared to be mostly greens.

Our table at Aladdin's Eatery Clintonville had provided an ideal location for our extended conversation. The staff even turned down the music in the dining room so that my friend and I would be able to hear each other better.

Food we get from here is always good, always fresh, always cooked just right. We usually order out. However. My wife ordered in with her friend not too long ago and ordered one of the salad’s, the one with the cooked grilled chicken tenders. The salad that came out was the one with dark meat, whatever that one is. Lol. When my wife asked the server to confirm if it was the original salad she ordered the server said it was. My wife figured she picked the wrong one off the menu. Later when she came home we looked online and figured out the server was wrong about the name of the salad and totally just confidently called it the wrong one. Maybe double check next time when the customer asks you what kind of salad they have sitting in front of them? Idk, my wife didn’t get to eat her dinner that day but she brought it home and I did, so 4 stars for you, for now, for your salad disinformation...
