Buckeye Hibachi (E. Broad St.) — Restaurant in Columbus

Came here for the first time tonight to grab something quick after work. There were a few people waiting on food. I placed an order, swiped my card, and then they told me it’d be a 25-35 min wait. I hadn’t signed for my card transaction yet so just asked to cancel. They told me they can’t cancel or refund the order because it already went through. Meanwhile, the other person at the counter was telling people that came after me how long the wait was... I told the person waiting on me “you didn’t tell me the wait time until after I swiped my card” and her response was “you saw these people waiting, so I would expect you to know.” She went to get the owner, who came out but did not speak to me. I was told by the other person working the counter that they’d let me “cut the line” on my wait but I didn’t want to do that because it’s not fair to the people that were already waiting on their food. I ended up telling them not to worry about the food and that I’d call and dispute it with my cc company. I sat down and started to make the call, and not even a minute later they told me they were able to cancel my order. Won’t be back… can’t support businesses that do...

I order from here often, mainly because my daughter likes it. We ordered online from their website toastee( something like that, it’s their online ordering system). I ordered steak with white steamed rice and broccoli . We get to the restaurant and they say they are out of steamed rice. So I was okay with fried rice and asked for no egg. They say they cannot do that even though online it gives you the option to have fried rice with no egg. Disappointing. I have ordered from this location several times but I will not be anymore since they cannot accommodate my order without egg. I use to get this with my daughter but lately just started going for her because she still liked it. But I stopped getting it for myself because the steak is so hard and chewy. I use to chew the steak and spit most of it out because it was so tough, it was like a choking hazard. Then I started getting chicken and that was tough too and it was salty. They do give you a lot of food but it looks better than it taste. And with the whole egg situation today I am just done with this place. I will cook her hibachi or find another spot, but won’t be stepping foot back in this location or any...

I ordered 4 separate sides of steak but when I arrived they had put them all in one box. Seemed a little suspicious so I decided to check the contents before even stepping away from the pick up counter. When I opened the box there was obviously no where near enough steak to equal the 4 sides which I paid for. I asked them to separate the steak into 4 sides and when they did the portion only overed about 1/2 of the bottom of each of the boxes used for their sides. When I asked why they only gave me the equivalent of maybe 2 sides they started acting confused and offered no explanation of why they had charged me for 4 sides and only provided 2 at best. Bottom line is that I caught them trying to be shady and now they have lost my business as well as anyone else I can persuade to go somewhere else where they won't try to rip you off. What a disgusting display of unethical...
