We waited 15-20 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged us (we thought about leaving - but we stayed). When the Waitress finally arrived we decided that since we waited so long we would order our appetizer, drinks and food all at the same time.
15 minutes later they only brought one drink from the bar and no water. After another 10 minutes we had to ask the waitress about the second drink and 5 minutes afterwards we got the second drink from the bar. However, both drinks tasted awful, especially for the high price (their long island was $8.99 and it was not top shelf liquor. The other drink was a Mia Tia for $7.50; again not top shelf liquor). Neither drink was tasty enough to make us want to order another drink - the bartender just can't mixed a good drink - and the liquor was definitely watered down way to much. Eventually, I did order a second drink, I ordered a rum & coke, I figured they can't mess that up, right. Wrong! They did! It was $6.50 delivered to me in what looked like a shot glass (I'm not kidding a teeny-tiny glass for $6.50), the rum was so watered down all I could taste was the flat taste of coke. (Well actually it tasted like flat Pepsi if I am going to be honest). All of this would be easy to overlook if the customer service was better.
There are 3 new seafood boil restaurants that have recently opened in my neighborhood within a 10 mile range of each other. (In the Pickerington/Reynoldsburg area) the restaurants are Pier 11 Boil, Jay's Boil, and the Cajun Boil. My husband and I have now been to ALL 3 of these restaurants. Their seafood boil menus are ALL basically very similar and all 3 have great tasting seafood boil and not much difference in their pricing either - seriously the seafood was very good at all 3 restaurants (no complaints about the food). Therefore, customer service should be TOP PRIORITY. But here is where the Cajun Boil Bar loses big points with me. They absolutely provided us the worse customer service out of all 3 restaurants. Our food came to the table before the appetizer (also, I had to ask the waitress if we were still going to get our Calamari appetizer) she said yes, and it came out 5-10 minutes after I asked her for it. That let me know it could have come before our meal was delivered (since it didn't take that long to get it after I asked for it).
I must tell you that Peir 11 definitely had EXCELLENT customer service. But, Jay's Boil had the best ambience and bar drinks (Jay's Crab Boil customer service was good) the liquor at Jay's Boil was definitely the best and their long island was cheaper and tasted much better than at the other two restaurants (Jay's had $7.00 long island and $8.00 for top shelf).
Our meal at the Cajun Boil Bar total was $98. The cost was comparable to what we spent at the other two restaurants. However the customer service at Cajun Boil Bar was ABSOLUTELY the WORST. With having two other seafood boil restaurants in the area to choose from I don't think we will be coming back to the...

I ran out of there because I dont like crazy creepy people and I had to roll my windows up to keep the police and the ambulance away from him. Read moreA lot of firsts here: My first time getting alligator and my first experience with seafood boil.
Gator first(uncaptioned picture..it shows the caption in the link to "My Pictures" but I can't seem to get it to update within the review): The cliché is true. It really DOES "taste like chicken", more specifically dark meat. The "boom boom" sauce is mayonnaise-based not unlike a remoulade. It comes atop lettuce. It was good but quite pricey at $14 for a small basket. (I am sure that the price is reasonable considering the cost of the meat being used. But unless you have lots of cash onhand don't expect to make that your meal.)
The boil can be done in about 6 different "combo" plans ranging in price from $31 to around $48 depending on how much and what types of meat you have in there. My $31 "A" boil (picture 2) had crab legs, shrimp, kielbasa type sausage, several potatoes and a hard boiled egg as an example. You choose one of around 5 or 6 sauces that get put in the boil bag. (You can also get extra sauce on the side but there's a LOT of sauce in the bag. That really feels like overkill to me..) You also choose the spice level ranging from mild to extra hot.
A word about spice levels: If your goal is making your forehead sweat, then probably try extra hot. I personally enjoy spice but I'm not necessarily looking to test my taste bud pain threshold. If you just want a good amount of heat that builds slowly "hot" would be the way to go. (That's what I ordered.) Lightweights should be OK below that.
A word about garlic: If you're planning on coming for date night and are hoping for romance later in the evening, you might ask them to go a little lighter on it. I was eating alone today so I didn't care. 😄 Lots of delicious, delicious garlic in the boil.
If none of the pre-made combos suit your taste, you can build a bag to your specs.
If you aren't feeling boil, there are fried seafood options and jambalaya to name a few others.
I went on a Thursday around 4PM so I can't say a whole lot about expected wait times since that's a dead time for restaurants in general.
I will...
