This motel is listed under two separate names. "Motel 6 Columbus, OH" and "Relax Inn by OYO Columbus OH I 70." They're both the same motel.
Just finished 17 days and 16 nights here on my whirlwind tour of homelessness. Here's the pros and cons.
Pros Fastest Internet of any motel I've stayed at over the past 3-and-a-half months. Now granted, it wasn't always this fast. For maybe a week it was no faster than 7MB and disconnected every single night at 3:17 AM, and they had this annoying password system where the password changed every week. But they did some maintenance and not only did the Internet get faster, but they did away with the Wi-Fi password stuff. Your results may vary.
Shower is nice and hot, nice and strong. Moreso than any other motel I've stayed at so far.
Cons Bedbugs. Dead ones on our pillows, live ones in our sleep. We brought it up with the front desk and they did try to find us another room, but they couldn't find one. They offered us a full refund, but we opted to stay anyway. We didn't really have the option to move at the time.
Bathroom situation is a little weird. The bathroom itself is this extremely tiny space, big enough just for a toilet and a bathtub/shower. But next door to it is this open, doorless space connected to the main area of the room. This is where the bathroom sink and light switches to the bathroom are kept. Yes, the light switches and sink are in the other room.
The toilet clogs kinda easily, so mind how much toilet paper you use.
The rooms have no real kitchens. You get a microwave and a mini fridge. Therefore, the only sink is in that open space next to the bathroom.
Sink was clogged with a toothpaste cap, but we managed to fish it out.
The windows don't open, so there's no ventilation. You don't realize how much temperature and humidity compound until you can't open windows.
No elevators. The only way to transcend floors is with stairs that are outside.
Relax Inn/Motel 6 really oughta sort out this double listing. I don't know who they'd talk...

We had a music festival inspired bathroom event and needed our toilet unclogged. We made lunch which included 30 minutes of microwaving food, ate, got fed up and drove to Walmart, purchased a plunger, drove back to the hotel and fixed the issue ourselves. They still haven’t arrived to fix our issue. This is all to say nothing about the, what we assume is blood splatter in the bathroom sink area. This motel has all the charm of the Bates motel. -again to say nothing about the blood splatter in the sink area. 3 of 5 lights work, which I guess is better than 1 or 2. You can’t convince me they didn’t buy the microwave at a garage sale, back in 1975. The East facing wall is newly painted orange, but nothing else is newly renovated, which again, makes sense if you think about the blood splatter. The whole entire motel is “non” smoking, but it’s all you can smell, on the sheets. During our Walmart run we also purchased a Glade plug-in to fix this smell, it worked, so I would give Glade Plug-in a 5 star review. The curtains are ripped, again, all this makes sense when you consider the blood splatter. You also can’t convince me the “blanket” on the bed isn’t a curtain, because it’s the exact same material……as the curtain. I think we accidentally booked a Hollywood slasher film set, and they just ran with it. And I don’t know for sure, as I’m here with my wife, but I’d bet a large sum of money you can rent rooms by the hour here. You also have to pay a deposit, that you may or may not get back when you arrive, but the don’t inform you of this until you’re checking in. I’ve never used a motel/hotel TV, so I don’t know if the one in the room works. The dust covering it tells me it might not. But, we did here our neighbors either watching, or making...
Read moreThis place is connected to Budget Inn and both are ran by the same Indian family. Motel 6 is ran by a husband/wife and their kids. The Budget Inn is ran by the brother and his wife. Anyway, Motel 6 allows pets FOR FREE with a limit of two. They will try to charge you extra and pocket the money. They also don't allow dogs on their grass. You have to walk them to the tick infested tree line over by the creek that is completely overpowered by litter or take a walk over to the car dealership where they don't care as long as you pick up after your dog. I stayed there for two and half months and never once got them to come in to clean. They allowed us to borrow their vacuum cleaner, but instead of giving us the one they use, they gave us an old heavy vacuum that wouldn't even pick up dog hair. So I had to resort to using a broom. I had to chase them down for clean sheets that I may have or may not have received that same day. The longest they made me go without clean sheets was three weeks! Don't even get me started on toilet paper. My boyfriend eventually had to get everything due to them being extremely unhelpful to me. They refused to answer their little doorbell, refused clean sheets, and even refused to accept my weekly charge unless it came from my boyfriend. Everytime I stepped outside I felt as if I were being watched and became very uncomfortable to leave. They have also tried kicking me out twice after receiving $250 towards weekly rent (which they are allowed to refuse a refund according to corporate) for letting a woman who didn't renew her visit to use my outlet to charge her phone so she could make a phone call. So, next time you decide to go to motel 6, avoid this dump! There are many other locations that...
