It's been a while since we've eaten at the local Chili's because frankly the food there is pretty bad. This is shame because it's just around the corner from our home. With COVID and the reduction in the restaurants where we can even get carryout, decided in a moment of weakness to give them another try. Ordered online and got a sampling of their current menu - one steak, one chicken, and one fish. The salmon was very fishy tasting, even with the gunk they topped it with (here's a clue - fresh fish doesn't need a bunch of toppings, just a little salt and a lemon wedge).
The 10 oz sirloin looked awfully anemic so when we got home, we popped it on the postal scale. It came out at 4 oz - hmmm, as meat typically loses about 25% when cooked, this means it probably started out closer to 6 oz. Now, Chili's serves 6 oz sirloins so we suspect they charged us for a 10 oz and made the decision to rip us off with a 6 oz steak.
The grilled chicken breast was also on the small side, but as they don't specify how much chicken they're going to give you, we can't say this is demonstrably is dishonest, but we will point out that Applebee's down the street gives a much better deal from a size to price ratio. BTW, the grilled chicken looked more like it was boiled.
Salad size here is always been a guess - sometimes they give you the small salad, sometimes the large salad (this is pretty inconsistent). This time we got three small salads.
One bad thing about their online ordering process is that you can't customize the dishes like you can at Applebee's or even fast food places like Panera Bread, e.g., you can't say, no tomatoes on my salad or no butter on my steak.
Overall, our previous assessments about this particular Chili's were proven, nothing's changed - all we can recommend: just say NO, if you're tempted...

Waited 2hours 40 min for food. Never came. Was told would just do refund. By that time it was late at night. Family was starving. Called the next day to see if we could get our order for lunch instead since we already paid for it all online the night before. And they still hadn’t refunded it. They said absolutely. Picked up Order & it was completely wrong. Had to make another trip back. 3 trips later, I know I will definitely not be visiting for awhile. Especially to go. But the People were very nice, Both days of different people working, but their to go service is one of the worst I have ever experienced.
May-2017 I am updating my review. I still feel the same way about the food. I love it! But the Columbus location has the worst staff!!! The waitresses are rude, condescending, and snobby. They charged us for a drink that should've came with the kids meal. The waitress acted as if we were a nuisance for asking them to take the $2.75 off. So she punished us by making us wait 23 minutes to bring our check back! Wth!!! I know the game she was trying to play, how does she think that will ever improve her tips? Not just that, but she was completely rude through the entire service as so are many of their waitresses are. They don't bring drink refills and less you ask, they don't clean off the dirty dishes off of the table they just let them pile up so you have no room, they don't offer to bring refills on chips and salsa unless you ask. Just all ridiculous! The only good waiters and waitresses are in the bar, but if you have kids that's not an option. Read moreWe arrived at 2:15p - The greater wanted to seat us near the door, when we requested to sit someone else she made a face. Once at the table before we could sit we needed to clean the bench and wipe table off. Once the waitress visited she was "pleasant" with tattoos on her fingers and piercings in her face.
The waitress took our drink order then went towards the kitchen and started playing with her hair. She wasn't the only waitress messing with her hair. Gross
The waitress came back and I asked "do we need to request more unlimited chips" she said yes you do, do you want more? Obviously I did or I wouldn't have asked I was thinking.
Another family of three came in and was seated after us, they received their food prior to us. We believe their food came out first as a retaliation for asking about the chips.
Finally at 3:08pm we received our food. We asked the server for mayonnaise, she left to "go get it".
2 minutes later the manager came by asking how was everything looking, tasting. My wife said I want to know what took so long to get out food? The manager said oh, I'll go check to never return.
7 mins pass and the manager comes out of the back and intentionally avoids us and never returned to follow up with our question.
The sever came back out and said the manager said to give you all a free dessert. She didn't bring the mayonnaise... go figure. When I asked about the mayonnaise she said I can get mayonnaise but yet she never did. We did take advantage of the free desserts.
