I have gone here since it first opened in the previous location and had been to the one in Indianapolis before they were even in Columbus.. Many of the long time employees would recognize me (although I am not sure how many of those are left). Some of the more recent ones might too.
I had stopped going for a good long while due to their messing up my sandwiches one time too many. Once the replacement order was messed up in the same way even though the person at the counter assured me they were correct after I asked, I ended up throwing the last messed up order away without a word and didn't return for probably a year or more losing the money I had paid for them. In fact, upon my final return one of the employees at the window commented she hadn't seen me for a long time.
I went in Sunday evening, March 16, 2014 and placed my order. While waiting, I observed the kid on the left hand side (where the fryers are) handling the handle of the mop bucket with his gloved hands and then handle my prepared chicken rings (and possibly cheese sticks as well.) I ended up not eating either and scrounging up something from home to make up for the lost food as it was probably pushing 10 o clock, I had worked over 12 hours, and didn't want to deal with it.
I took the uneaten food in on the next day (March 17th) and was told they could only remake the food since I had waited past the day it happened. I told her I didn't want the food, I wanted my money back. She took my name and number for the manager to call me. I handed her the bag and instead of taking it and throwing it away, pointed me towards the trash can...nice. Make me go through more effort now on your company's mistake.
As of today (three more days) I had not heard from the manager. If they tried to call, my cell shows nor record of it and there were no voicemails. I finally called myself today and the manager gave me the same song and dance. She was apologetic saying it was company policy, but as far as I am concerned can stuff the sorries in one of their "sacks" as sorries do me no good. I wanted the food Sunday night not later. I have lost my appetite for the food.
I then called corporate and will see if they do any better. Nonetheless, the lack of trying to adequately correct their own mistake (in a not unreasonable way requested) has made for an unhappy customer....make that former customer as far as I am concerned. At this point it is hard to imagine how they could make up for my making two visits there with still no money back, the aggravation involved, the time spent on the phone and now my mission to spread the word about their uncleanliness (at the very least with some employees) and lack of good customer service with stupid policies (considering it was their mistake and I took the food back with the receipt).
To White Castle: You may be penny wise in not refunding my money and only being willing to fix more food, but you are pound foolish. Enjoy that $9. or whatever the total was (they kept the receipt for the manager to see). I used to eat there frequently (in spurts at least), but you have gotten the last money from me as far as I...
Read moreBest White Castle Ive ever experienced and Im going back to the 80s when getting White Castle at this location was a treat (ok, anynFAST FOOD was a treat but WC was a rare opportunity for me to slurp the best chocolate milk shake my little grubby hands could get.
And the onion chips! I'm a big fan of the chips vs the RINGS that are served at Southern locales. And again, they are the rare fast food item that I still love as much now as I did back then. I still only "treat" myself to the WC about 1-2 times a year because I want to keep my love for the sliders going, but I hav NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED at this location.
I recently used their mobile ordering and had an even better experience since it took only 7 mins from start to finish and normally, this WC can take up to 45 mins in the drive thru if there's more than 3 cars when I pull in. So that is why this location deserves a solid...
Read moreJust went to the Columbus White Castle and was met with gaslighting techniques which I firmly believe most restaurants incorporate these days when ordering through the drive-thru the employee tried telling me that the chicken rings would go with the order and when in fact it did not a $28 water turned into a $59 order at the end and instead of doing their job correctly and saying that's an add-on or being informative about the order they continue to make you believe and think that it is a part of the deal then the manager comes to the window and personally hands me to order giving me the old swamp eye it's a terrible place with terrible food and terrible tactics would...
