It was opening day, Friday night. My wife, daughter and I have only been in columbus for 5 years, so we never experienced the original Deorio's Pizza. We walked in and it was chaos (goes with openings) staff were still assigning sections of tables for the waiters. Getting sat took a few minutes. It was all hands on deck to help out, with family and friends there to support and assist. The one who stood out the most, was the young lady who showed you to your table, took your drink order and brought you you drinks. She did not pass a table where she did not ask the guests if they needed refills, if the the waiter had been by, or if they needed anything. We did notice the room was a little warm, not sure if from the number of people, the open kitchen or HVAC issues. Our food order, garlic knots, cheese bread and meatballs appetizers. They were out of the garlic knots. Wife and daughter loved the cheese bread, delicious with hint of garlic. Meatballs were big, yummy and a little spicy, but not hot. For the rest of the meal we had small 12" caprese pizza, 2 slices (1/4 of a pizza) of ham. Pepperoni and sausage and Pepperoni, mushroom and onion. All the pizzas were excellent, good amount and fresh toppings, not too greasy, and crust was firm with a crunch (so state wife and daughter, I do not eat bread). Side salad with Deorio's famous Italian dressing which lived up to its reputation. I had the Italian grinder, plenty of meat, cheese, and lettuce, again no bread eaten, came with a bag of chips. Daughter had the tiramisu, light and flavorful. We enjoyed the meal, staff was very attentive and we left with 2...
Read moreGreat experience ! Good value, Family atmosphere. Italian comfort food. The Entree prices are fair and the portions were filling. Our party of two adults and one child paid $45.20 which included one glass of wine. The restaurant was clean and fresh as expected for day two. We arrived at 5:15 pm and the dining room was already half full. There was plenty of staff including a few well mannered young people. We were quickly seated and the pacing of drinks, salad and dinner was perfect. When any servers delivered something to a table they would check on the surrounding tables on their return. Great teamwork ! There were and will be issues to work through with a new restaurant. A few pet peeves : The food was salty. Some entrees brought to table before cheese had been melted. The dining room got warm quickly. I prefer a salad bowl. I hope they will eventually have the decanters for the house dressing. A young staff member was wearing Crocs. The young man bussing the tables acted like he wanted to be anywhere else. My Lasagna with meatballs and mushrooms came out as Lasagna with eggplant and no mushrooms but was quickly and appologetically corrected. Any negatives were minor and easily correctable. Thank you for staying in Midtown and we are looking forward to...
Read moreI have a co worker and this is one of their favorite places to eat. We decided to try it out and we were not disappointed. We called in our order and they were extremely nice on the phone. Told us the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes. It was more 20-25 but not that big of a deal. We ordered an appetizer, 2 subs and 2 pizzas. We ordered the meatballs for an appetizer and they were so good. My husband and I both really liked them. The hey were full of flavor and we really liked the marinara they were in. The 2 subs we ordered, The chicken sub and the Italian sub. Both were delicious and came with chips. I loved the chicken sub and can see this is a great lunch option especially for the price. For the pizza we order a large pepperoni bc that is a great standard to judge a pizza place. It was good and even better, my teenage daughter who is extremely picky and won’t eat pizza from most places, loved it! The second pizza was a specialty pizza, the caprese pizza, just like the salad. It had tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil and a balsamic glaze! I loved it! We will definitely...
