I ate a delicious late breakfast [or early lunch] recently [4-19-2022] at Freedom a la Cart.
I am downtown these days only occasionally; however, I had been planning to attend a "protest" event [a "Street Seder Calling on Big Banks to Stop Funding Fossil Fuels"] about one block away from Freedom a la Cart so I decided to eat there, arriving one hour or so before the "protest" event would be beginning.
I had been aware of Freedom a la Cart's previous location [in the basement of Trinity Episcopal Church] but had eaten there only while I had been attending day-long "Lobby Day" events at that church with noontime food [served in that familiar-to-me basement room] catered by Freedom a la Cart.
The new location of Freedom a la Cart is far more open and friendly than had been the old location. It had been great to be able to spend forty minutes or so in a very friendly space, with several others [restaurant staff members and those who had been eating there right then], on a cold April morning.
My food choice that day had been a Breakfast Burrito [Chorizo, Hash Browns, Provolone, Scrambled Eggs, Roasted Onions and Peppers served with Tomatillo Sauce]; that food item had been absolutely delicious.
The next time I return to Freedom a la Cart, I plan to order and eat their Rosemary Breakfast Sandwich [Housemade Rosemary-Lemon Breakfast Sausage, Egg, Provolone Cheese, Lemon Aioli, Arugula, Fresh Baked Croissant Bun].
If you are looking for a quiet and friendly location in downtown Columbus at which to eat some delicious breakfast-or-lunch food [they are open each day except for Sunday until 3:00 p.m.], I strongly recommend...
Read moreMy friend and I were heading to the Columbus Book Festival this morning and wanted to find something we hadn’t tried before to get breakfast. She found Freedom a la Cart and it was a great find! The cafe isn’t hard to find, however you can easily drive by so pay attention when you are close! It’s right next to Firestone. The staff is very friendly and will give you suggestions if you aren’t sure what you would like!
While I didn’t try any of the pastries, they all looked delicious. I had their blueberry chia bowl and it was very good! I had Gastric Bypass a little over a year ago so I am fairly limited on what and how much I can eat but the other food choices sounded very good and smelled/looked good as others in the cafe ordered it!
What really stands out beyond the great service and food, is the mission of Freedom a la cart. They are driven by a mission to help survivors of human/sex trafficking. Go read their “about us” section on their website. They’re doing amazing things for people.
Highly recommend!...

"Freedom a la Cart empowers survivors of human trafficking and exploitation to build lives of freedom + self-sufficiency. We believe that giving a woman practical job skills and developing a strong work ethic is vital for creating a pathway to freedom."
Now, who wouldn’t want to support this? My experience at the place was very positive—great cup of mocha, a little sweetness to go with it, and super friendly customer service. If you are ever in downtown Columbus, OH, go and visit this coffee spot. We are all connected, and if buying a cup of coffee or anything at this spot helps someone else, I'm all in.
I'll finish with this: "The International Labour Organization estimates that there are 40.3 million victims of human trafficking globally." Again, if you are ever in this city, look up this coffee spot and show your...
