11/14/22: EDIT #2: I love this place. Their food is excellent. I regret ever doubting them and encourage you to eat their food and give them a shot. And read my review arc below if you want to know how not to act (as if you already didn't know). I am an introverted trash goblin so I never leave the house and always get doordash so I can't speak to anything else dine-in-wise but they are a go-to of mine and always will be.
9/25/22: EDITING to update that I've cooled my jets a little bit. So, I've been sick with stomach issues for a couple months and I was majorly sad when this happened because I had finally felt like eating again after several days of feeling like hot garbage and not keeping any food down. And then this happened. I know it's not great to order right up against closing time and I normally actively avoid doing so, but nausea and vomiting were driving that night and I clearly wrote this review in a fit of hangry queasy rage and that's never a good look. So for that, I am very sorry, Greek Express. I was actually sobbing on my couch over this "my sandwich isn't ever coming" mishap and I should not have been allowed to be on the internet in that condition because ugh, messy. I am changing my review to 3 stars bc obv my judgement was lacking although this would have bet somewhat frustrating for even fully healthy and not excessively emotional people, too, so hopefully it was just a one-off!! I will absolutely give you another chance (at a far more convenient time according to your business hours) and report back with what I'm hopeful will be an excellent experience.
Ordered on doordash at 9:00 PM. Store closes at 9:30 and they stop accepting orders on Doordash at 9:10. The restaurant confirmed my order. 25 minutes later Doordash called me and said that they were cancelling because they don't accept orders after 9:00. Love that. Hours are apparently not accurate, and I cannot for the life of me understand why they chose to confirm the order if they couldn't do it. Especially after making me wait for so long. What a bummer as they had such great reviews but they made me so mad tonight that now I will never give them a...
Read moreOh my goodness, their food is delicious!!! We ordered a cheese pie (tiropita), Greek gyro salad, and a regular gyro. The salad was full of crispy fresh greens, banana peppers that still had good crunch and flavor, lots of feta, oodles of olives (like a dozen, not just a few), fresh and numerous cucumber, a good helping of fresh red onion, and covered with a solid, thick layer of gyro meat on top. There was plenty of dressing to cover it, too, and a warm pita to go with it! That order was without tomato (due to an allergy), but my gyro was ordered "with everything on it", and it had tomato! Now, there is a difference between tomatoes picked fresh out of the garden, fully ripe, and the tomatoes chain restaurants get. Most restaurant tomatoes are light pink with no flavor. This tomato was the reddest restaurant tomato I've seen in ages (about 3/4 of the flavor from my garden tomatoes)! It may be the time of year to get them that way, but that's even in consideration of other restaurant tomatoes I've had the last few weeks! Lastly, the cheese pie was Just as Hot and Delicious as the ones I get at the Greek festival! Soooooooo goooooooood, gooey, cheesy, flaky..... mmmmmmm. I highly recommend this shop. The staff were all nice, speedy with our food, and gave it to us exactly as we...
Read moreFood is great, but unfortunately this is another one of those restaurants you need to check every single item you order every single time you go. I order a mini Cajun chicken gyro with feta (+.50¢ up-charge) and banana peppers (+.50¢ up-charge), and I make it a meal with a drink and fries that I ask to be topped with house sauce (what goes on the gyro) & feta. Without fail, every time I go, something is wrong with the order: Either the chicken is not Cajun, feta is left off the gyro (but still charged for it), banana peppers are left off (but I'm still charged for it), there's no house sauce and/or tomatoes and/or onion on the gyro (for some reason? Even though they come standard that way...), or there's no house sauce + feta on my fries that the worker confirms is doable for my order. Last time I went, the "house sauce" given to me was a HUGE dollop of plain greek yogurt I think? See picture. It ruined the fries and I couldn't eat them. I love the food, but I've stopped going simply because of the...
