I am an eccentric woman with deep pockets. I am extremely generous and enjoy living a life of generosity and charity. I choose to downplay my image, and drive a simple car. I attended a party with my family in the Mohawk room, and had invited two dear autistic guests who joined me.

My "modest" Toyota Camry was parked by valet under a tree which covered my car in sap during the multiple hours we were there. I almost could not see out of my windshield and back window driving home and had to find a safe place to park in the night hours to scrape it off. The next day I had to get my car professionally washed and detailed to get all of it off. I never had such experiences when I drove a luxury car, and wore designer clothing.

Our waitress did not fail to notice my modesty and unique autistic guests. She did however, fail to treat us like she treated the rest of the table. She boxed up everybody else's food, but gave us boxes to box our own. She regularly cleared the dirty plates and empty dishes of others, but left ours until we left. She looked annoyed with wide open eyes if we asked her any questions as if she couldn't believe we were even talking to her.

As I said I am an extremely eccentric, generous, wealthy woman who uses my money to help others. I live a life of sacrifice for others, and enjoy giving surprisingly large amounts of money to other genuine people. By dressing modestly in situations like this, I get an amazing view of the hearts of people. Had she and the valet staff been good to us, they would have been abundantly blessed by my over the top tips.

When you've lived a life of luxury and done everything there is to do, but one day you find your purpose… Sometimes you do funny things. And this is what I do. I have been known to give insanely big tips simply because I see a good person who is genuinely good and deserves good things! I have a strong sense of justice and a fat generous wallet. It is unfortunate for you that you thought it was OK to discriminate, humiliate, and disrespect myself and my 2 guests, even to the level of nearly damaging the paint on my car, risking my safety driving with a blurry windshield and back window that were sprayed with sap, and forcing me to clean my car in downtown Columbus late at night before I could even drive. Then needing to get my car detailed so that the paint wouldn't be destroyed!

I am happy I saw your true colors. And I am happy you didn't benefit from my generosity. I will triple the next tips that I give to the next kind and genuine people simply to spite you for your filthy behavior. After reading multiple other comments about the alleged racism and poor treatment of African-Americans, I question if this played any part when it came to one of my guests. I will never know for sure, but I do know that you lost out on a huge blessing. You never know who you are mistreating. Do better

Side note the fries taste like overcooked, McDonald's, The mashed potatoes salted and seasoned to death. Ribeye was cooked all the way through when it was supposed to be medium rare. Everything else was OK, but...

I chose Lindey's for weekend brunch because I saw that they were nominated for year's best dining experience, best outdoor dining, and best fine dining by Gannett (the Columbus Dispatch). Upon entrance, I discovered it was a nice looking place, with cherry solid wood and polished brass accents. Standard, old world upper crust German Village template. However, the looks and treatment I got, as a party of one, from the staff was not part of the charm. I got a distinct feeling they felt like they were looking at something gross when they looked at me and, as soon as they were done, they rushed off to sanitize their hands. I mean, that may have just been my imagination too but I rarely get that feeling when I eat out (see my other reviews). I don't know; judge for yourselves I guess. My stomach perked up when I saw they had brioche French toast, intermingled with vanilla custard, cinnamon honey butter, a touch of Applewood bacon, and bourbon barreled maple syrup. For the first course I got the angel biscuits - which were nicely served - gooey warmness that quickly melted cinnamon honey butter when you spread it. They tasted as good as they sounded too. Five stars for sure. Midway through the biscuits, though, I was told they were all out of the French toast. I asked how, were they out of bread (?) and was told the dish was very popular and went quickly. I confusingly wondered why they couldn't anticipate the need for more bread if they knew they would go fast. Very disappointed- because that was really the only thing that sounded good to me (I knew I didn't want a lot of breakfast meat, hollandaise sauce, or any seafood and I definitely wanted a hot meal)- I gave the menu a second look. With almost all options eliminated, I ordered the brunch double - a double cheeseburger. I figured, for $20, there was a good chance I wouldn't be sorry. But, it just wasn't my day because I knew almost instantly the sandwich was not worth that price. I ate most of it, got the remaining biscuits to go, paid $38 with tip, and left. To sum up: I might be back but I can't recommend the restaurant...

Disorganized, disrespectful, frazzled, uncommunicative service for graduation dinner

Tl;dr - Booked reservation 10 months in advance, arrived early, checked in regularly, and was told to wait 30 minutes past my reservation time while other similar-sized parties were seated on time

I booked Lindey’s as a foolproof guest-pleaser. I’d been many times before and trusted that they wouldn’t screw up their service and ruin my graduation dinner. Boy was I wrong.

More context: Reserved a table for my graduation dinner 10 months in advance (in July 2024 for May 2025 graduation). My party arrived at around 5pm to have happy hour before dinner. We asked the hosts to seat us earlier if they had availability, but it was fine if we were seated on time too. The night went on and they didn’t seat us early. That was fine—our reservation was for 7pm. Multiple tables came and were immediately seated.

At 7pm, they didn’t seat us. At 7:10pm, they didn’t seat us either. We got up to remind them of our reservation. The host said that we’d have to wait another half hour for a table to be ready. I disputed and said that I’d seen at least 10 tables arrive and be seated on time. Why wasn’t our table ready? They conferred and created a makeshift seating area for us, crowded between other tables.

They did not act apologetic. Rather, they acted like we were harassing them and causing them a massive inconvenience. While I felt quite frustrated that their lack of preparedness was keeping my guests waiting, I tried to be as respectful as possible to the hosts and staff members. I understood it was a busy night because of my school’s graduation. However, my party had been seated for happy hour right by the host stand since 5pm. They knew that my party was ON TIME for the 7pm reservation. There is no excuse that they didn’t know we were there. The food was fine.

Overall, 0/10 experience. Will not be returning. You’ve lost a...
