I totally agree with one of the reviewer's comments about totally disregarding us and speaking with other customers while we are waiting for them to get our work finished. I definitely see a discrimination against people who don't speak Hindi. I agree that the lady owner did come to silver section when she saw my mother and I waiting there. We selected a pair of anklets quickly but since she was still talking to other three customers leisurely while showing them the anklets (I noted it was busy for them only when we speak with them), she asked her husband who was the male owner to bill it and threw the anklets at him. He caught it, then asked us to wait for few minutes, continued with the other customer's enquiries. We thought he will attend to us after a few minutes but he totally ignored us, proceeded with the customer to the gold section. Meanwhile, the lady owner took all her sweet time to leisurely speak with those customers, came to front side for billing, handed them their anklets respectfully. All the while we were standing. She did not even bother to ask why we were still waiting. When my mother asked, she simply smiled and said we will be attended next. It did not seem to matter to her that we were waiting inspite of having selected the anklets first. Then she comes to us, she realizes she is very busy, puts the anklets hurriedly in a box, went to credit card machine and while swiping the credit card, she starts answering questions of another customer, gave me the receipt, then proceeded with other customer without even the courtesy to hand over the item respectfully. Note, she was very respectful to the other previous customers with whom she was speaking in Hindi, gave her full attention to them and did not even mind that we were waiting. But when she came to us, it appeared as if we were waiting on charity and suddenly she remembers that it is a busy time. The other male owner also did not seem to mind that we were waiting. I definitely noticed that they give more preference to people who seem familiar to them and who speak Hindi. I did not realize that this will happen in USA too. Decided not to go to that shop anymore. Thanks to one of the reviewers Nova Talukder who mentioned Dublin Village Jewellers shop. Will...
Read moreWe had a disappointing first experience at Abhushan Jewellers in Columbus, Ohio. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was dismissive and unhelpful. The staff didn’t seem interested in listening to what we were actually looking for—they rushed the interaction, barely let me see different options, and even tossed the jewelry around carelessly as if they were in a hurry to move on. Along with that - they do not give proper time to customers. You can’t effectively support multiple customers who are all trying to buy expensive gold, when there are only two individuals who both lack customer service skills.
One of the biggest red flags was their refusal to disclose the weight of the gold. When I asked, I was told “we only tell our loyal customers the weight.” That alone felt incredibly shady—how are customers supposed to make informed decisions without basic transparency? After asking again the man serving us weighed the jewelry but his demeanor became even more irritated and rude. They also weigh the jewelry in the back area, away from the customer, which felt sketchy and untrustworthy. Any reputable jeweler should weigh items in front of you to ensure fairness and build trust. Also NONE of their items are tagged with prices. All reputable jewelers tag their items with prices - as this provides transparency.
On top of all that, their prices are exponentially overpriced for the quality and service you receive. Highly recommend checking out other Indian owned gold shops in Columbus. We won’t be returning, and I strongly suggest others shop elsewhere where honesty, professionalism, and customer care are taken seriously. If you’re there to buy gold or any jewelry, you deserve to be treated with respect as the customer supporting their business. This...
Read moreI went in today for 2 things.
To get my daughter’s baby gold bangle fixed because she had fell on it while playing and the shape became irregular but the woman working there said she couldn’t get it fixed because she thought it wasn’t solid gold and that it might break and I told her that it is 22K gold and she had the audacity to say “well it doesn’t look like 22K” and it really just put me off.
I wanted to get an estimate on a ring I had received as a gift on my wedding so I could maybe trade it in for a new ring but she couldn’t help me with that either and that there’s someone else who does the estimate and he’s not in until 3:30 everyday.
Overall her behavior was very rude and while I was talking to her another customer came in and totally disregarded our conversation and started talking with her. I later went to Dublin Village Jewelers and they got the bangle fixed and not only...
