Mitas is my family’s favorite and go-to place for dinner! The staff are so incredible and the food is delicious. Appetizer recommendations: Somosas are delicious! It comes with 2 and you’ll want to eat them both. šŸ˜‰ If you’re with multiple folks, it’s always fun to order different appetizers for the table. My go-to for those are the chicken chili and the chicken choila (pictured here) Meal recommendations: The chicken biryani is absolutely beautiful and delicious. It also heats up incredibly well as leftovers. I like to get it spicy, but if you have more less-spice tastes, I’d recommend butter chicken or chicken tikka massala. The chicken for gorkhali is delicious - but be prepared for bones in them (worth it!). My husbands go-to is the chicken fried rice or momos. Rice/sides: Every person should get a side of naan! So yummy - and great if you get a creamy dish. Their jeera rice is fantastic! There’s a dish for everyone here and it’ll quickly become a go-to place once you try it due to the delicious food and kind staff!

I've spent the last 30 years eating Indian food at restaurants from California to New York to Georgia, but this was an entirely different and delicious experience. If you're familiar with Indian dishes, you'll see items on the menu you'll recognize, but many are slightly tweaked. After talking to the wait staff, it seems the difference is regional and the Himilayan and Nepalese influences produce fabulous results. We ordered and recommend samosa chaat (appetizer) and for entrees: butter chickenm, catfish curry, chicken chilli (it said fried, but it's pan-fried, not breaded), and vindi masala (again, the "fried" okra is pan-fried). All were stupendous. A NOTE ON THE HEAT/SPICE: I adore spicy food, and at my hometown Indian restaurant in Georgia, I will ask for a spice of 2 or 3 out of 5 to get the heat I enjoy. At Mita's, we ordered everything at a spice of 1 -----> and it was spicy! and perfect. It's a low level of heat that could be too much for the faint of heart. I will definitely be back and recommend!

My husband and I were dying to try this place. I have only been once, so if I go back and the experience is even better, I'll gladly update my review.🄰 The food was delicious. Very spicy for me. I'm wimpy when it comes to spicy food, so I asked for level 1 and still struggled. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. My husband loved his noodles. They were great. Mine was great too, but now I'm curious to try several other dishes I've never heard of.šŸ’• The dumplings sound awfully temptingšŸ‘šŸ» I will return, I just know it's not within our budget to eat there as often as I'd like to. I wish there was a cheaper lunch menu option. We spent almost $50 on lunch, which is a lot for us, but I understand that's doable for a lot of people, so I'm not mad about it. I hope they thrive and do very well here in Columbus! I truly do. They seem like nice people. Also, it's wonderful to finally have some new variety in our town that isn't another fast food restaurant. I can't wait to go back and try it again someday.šŸ’•

hi its me again.

i am also compelled to respond to your response as i see it is initiually incorrect. so if we reference back to this date i did call the police myself and did ask for the video footage the young woman told me the footage had no voice on it so unforunately it is your word against mine and the police report.

howeverafter i left the restaurant i was only gone for a minumm of 6 minutes. when i realized the order was wrong i came back. after understanding that she would not correct the order that isaid i had mistakenly ordered wrong i was understanding. i did ask multiple times after her expressing that she did not issue refunds and or allowing me to pay the difference to just pay 20 dollars again for the entire meal since i ran out of options and she still declinded fixing the meal over after considering paying for it all over again. as we touch topic on discrimatory behavior that is completely between you and the young lady that assisted me. this clearly isnt a race issue but there is a speech barrier rather you want to admit it or not. its unfortunate that my post hindered your business but yet again i walked out that business with expectantions of getting the correct item that i wanted rather i had to pay for it all over again or rather it be worked out in whatever way the young lady felt approapiate enough to handle.

i cannot sit aside and allow you to place blame on something that i was inially trying to repay full for. this is why i say there was a speech barrier of misunderstanding because once the lady said no to allowing me to pay the difference, placing a new order and paying full or refunding my money. i had never eaten out the food and i also have photos of the meal because the officer told me to take pictures of everything because of issuues like this to be able to present in court.

however i know in this case it would be easier to defend someone that clearly doesnt want any repercussions for there behavior and thats understanding however in this case as i also stated to the police officer that i came in respectful and i refussed to get out of character so i would be labeled an aggressive black woman that every black woman experiences when something doesnt go our way but in this case i was very understanding, very resilent and very patient.

as stated i wont be returning but for those that are reading this, even though i had a horrible experince and had a horrible experience with magaement and the horrible remarks abouit how i needed to shut up is something i just wouldnt support anymore. i did contact the better business burea so rather this situations grows some accountability then i guess thats what happens when you dont take accountability.

its very unfortunate but to basically be blantly called a liar for a 20 dollar plate of food that i was willing to repay full for, claim that im basically being dertogatory because there is a speech barrier and basically being said that yall are losing business because there was no remedy for the problem that could have easily...

Soooo YES you will absolutely have to wait like 1 hour or more for your food. Maybe they weren’t quite ready to open? The portion versus price you pay eh, I’m cool with it cause I love trying new food so doesn’t bother me but others didn’t like it. I went opening day & yesterday. Now here’s my issue, I’m not sure if the young lady does not care for women or black women. She took everyone’s order around us and looked and never came back to us. People started getting their food and she kept walking past us with a frown, and still did not take our order. Others noticed and were staring, wondering if she would even acknowledge us, but again she NEVER did! The guy came out rubbed my shoulder and apologized and took our order, did everything! So I tried again yesterday thinking maybe I’m delusional, NOPE same girl I stood in front of her, and ordered to go and she kept ignoring the phone ringing taking everyone orders, until I came up she said hold on and started answering the phone, taking orders and I just stood there I don’t know how long and she walked away, never acknowledge me after saying hold on. She looked around me, even started talking at the man who came in and stood behind me to order. She walked off and never got my order and the guy that’s always at the register came and took mine and then she came back after me to take the others order. That did it for me and I won’t be back and spend my money where I’m not even wanted. I do not recommend my people to eat here..

EDIT: The response to my comment is why I WILL come back and support the business. We sat there and extended grace cause I understand how hectic it can be opening day , but I still don’t stand on how we had to wait an hour to get water and everyone around us had there’s and we all came in at the same time. Anyways, I’ll be back might stop in today to try something different. I truly wish nothing but success and I hope this place gets so busy they have to move to a bigger...

So I’m a regular here at Mita’s! I actually love mitas and would tell anyone to go however my experience today was very disappointing. For starters there’s a speech barrier but I don’t allow that to hinder coming and enjoying there food. Second I order over the phone due to the speech barrier or maybe my doing that the order was wrong however I acknowledged that I ordered the wrong thing and ask could I pay the difference in price. The young woman told me that I would be wasting food and she couldn’t do that which is understandable so I offered to pay the entire price for the meal again and I’m assuming because of the speech barrier that she didn’t understand that i was saying I will pay the entire price over if that’s what I have to do in order to get what I initially wanted and she replied back with no so at this point I say can I just have a refund on the order and I’ll eat here another time and unfortunately she told me no again. After my experience today I will never be back. I would also advise other people not to go if you have a hard time understanding them and expecting any type of resolution if anything goes wrong. Love story turned into a nightmare over her wonderful cooking but that’s enough for me to never go back . I’d also like to add there was no signs posted letting me know that refunds weren’t allowed. I did call the police and this will be a civil suite . That’s not how you run a business establishment especially when the customer is willing to pay all over again just to get the correct order because I understand that mistakes happen . Hated how she handled the situation . Poor attitude and atmosphere wasn’t willing to listen and would rather you ā€œ shut up ā€œ when she’s talking. Save your money and go else where cause clearly this feels more like a race issue than anything when I’m a...
