I came here in 2019 when location was inside Saraga international market. It was delicious back then—a real treat and experience, hard to find.
The videos and pictures you see are from back then to give you an idea of what it used to be.
*Now it’s only to-go containers. Awful for the environment.
*Portions are half of what they used to be.
*Flavor is zero of what it used to be.
I don’t know how you can ruin something great. Why? I think everything is frozen and steamed on site. Bread is not the same as well. It was a special place. Kitchen was right in front and visible to those lucky diners that sat at the bar. From there it was special to see the food being prepared and served to you in bowls NOT plastic containers with a pre measured plastic container of broth. Terrible experience and food all around.
Maybe the original owners sold it to someone capitalizing on the Bon Apetit article and Guy Fieri visit? I certainly hope that’s the case. Nothing makes sense. Either way stay away and don’t believe the hype. Waste of money and time.
Perhaps one day one of the original owners will realize what a special place and food they had and bring back the quality and service of the...
Read morePlanned a trip to Columbus and knew I absolutely wanted to go to Momo Ghar’s. Reviews for it were amazing! We love dumplings, so the hype was was certainly there. I questioned how sanitary things were because the woman working wasn’t wearing gloves while she was bouncing back and forth from the kitchen to the cash register. It’s possible she was wearing them in the back, but it didn’t seem like it. Given that she was the only one there I can say that she multitasked very well and was on top of things. The Momos were good, but I think I expected more, and the person I was there with felt the same. The texture of the dumplings was great, but the filling wasn’t as flavorful as you’d think. I liked the heavy cilantro taste, but otherwise it was a bit bland. Their homemade sauce is delicious and that adds a lot to the dumplings, but I wouldn’t say that Momo Ghar’s is as good as...
Read moreNever tried Nepalese/Himalayan good before so I knew I had to give it a go. The look like Chinese dumplings but are slightly bigger, almost like a small bao or ciao long bao.
There's not a lot if choices and that's not a bag thing. I prefer specializing and playing to your strength than a restaurant going mile wide and inch deep.
I wanted to try them all but gotta reserve room for other food so the combo was the choice, with pork and chicken. Both were great but the pork stood out more with a herbal flavor infused in it. The home made sauce went really well with it, a savory and hint of heat in it, I dunked my mom in them and could drink it as a soup all day. That's how good it was....
