I am impressed! The level of service was awesome, our waiter was very attentive, we had our waters refilled regularly (but not overly to the point of annoyance). The menu offered a great selection and even had a Mardi Gras selection. I ended up getting the '55' side salad, it was so good! The lettuce was fresh and crisp, bacon was crunchy, dressing was awesome. A very nice array of textures. Highly recommend that salad. For my meal I had the salmon shiitake asparagus fettuccine. It was so good! There was a nice selection of shiitake mushrooms as well as just white cap mushrooms. The Alfredo sauce was super good, it wasn't overly oily, it didn't break, it wasn't overpowering to the dish. Asparagus was nicely chopped into bite size pieces making it not awkward to eat. The salmon was cooked wonderfully and they had a nice big chunks within the fettuccine. Overall very good! I didn't feel like the bill was too high, but I would say that it would be very easy to rack up a decent bill. It was a party of three. Three. We all ordered water and I believe most of our dishes were under 20 per person, The total bill came up to $77 and some change. The parking lot is pretty easy to get in and out of there's multiple access points. It's located off of the Polaris parkway so there's plenty of things to do in the area. They had a beautiful bar setup and it looked like it had a very nice selection. I would recommend checking this place out, I would say it's probably something good for like a family meal or special occasions. I know that I definitely plan...
Read moreWe had a party of eight. The hostess station was covered by an older male manager who never looked up from his station to acknowledge the arriving patrons, and two young girls who had no welcoming skills whatsoever. I don't blame the girls. I blame whomever is supposed to be training them but obviously is NOT! We were seated and then came our waitress. Upon her realization that the four women in our group deciding on the wine were going to take longer then 10 seconds to make a decision, she rolled her eyes and huffed. Two of us witnessed this rude act, myself being one. We moved forward with the evening as this server continued taking care of us with a scowl. She forgot or neglected to act upon some of our requests. It makes it very uncomfortable as guests, to try and lift the server's spirits so it doesn't wreck our experience. The food was served and frankly it was very good. A variety of selections served at the correct temperature and nicely plated. (Thus the two stars given above) Prices are a tad on the high side but not outrageous for the tasty food. However, gratuity is included on your bill thus explaining the uncaring and poor service. (Note the lack of the other three stars not given above) If the server has no motivation to be courteous, friendly and helpful in order to earn the proper, or even better gratuity then this establishment will continue to deliver an inferior quality experience not worth...
Read moreStopped in (for the first time) for an early dinner. What I first noticed is how dark it was in the dining room. I don't mind a cozy ambiance, but this was a bit much. I was promptly greeted and seated; a server arrived not long after to take my order. I ordered the grilled salmon Oscar, which was described as prepared medium and topped with sweet crab, bearnaise and demi-glace. Let me begin with the good: The portion sizes of salmon, crab, asparagus, and red skin smashed potatoes were good. The herb butter served with the complimentary bread was also good. Now the not-so-good: Everything was underseasoned. My guess is that the salmon was prepared from a frozen state, as it was mushy and dry. Describing the sauce served with the salmon a beranaise is a stretch. It reminded me of heavy cream. No hint of shallots or tarragon, and no chervil in sight. The demi-glace was also underseasoned and too sweet, which is odd because classic demi-glace has no sweet ingredient. The asparagus and potatoes were run-of-the-mill, not bad, but lacked any seasoning. I used some of the herb butter on both, which helped. The bread tasted as if it was from the evening before. The service wasn't bad, although I did have to flag down an employee to get my check. Overall, it was a disappointing meal. I ate enough to quench my hunger and left the rest. I'm surprised by the number of glowing review. Perhaps I caught everyone on...
