Buyer beware —- these folks are not professionals and are frankly, unkind…. Very disappointed in not only the cake we received but the customer service. I ordered a $200+ two-tier cake for my daughter‘s birthday. While I was appreciative that they were able to give me a cake within a week notice the end product was disappointing. Not only was the cake nearly falling over after one hour out of the refrigerator, the icing was behind the writing of her name on the cake was a different dark color and looked botched. And frankly , the piping did not look professional. I could’ve overlooked the piping had everything else not been a disaster. When we took the top tier off, we found a support rod in the top tier and a support rod in the bottom tier but nothing that went through the entirety of the cake (see photos of the separate rods not connected and not going through both tiers) I emailed the business and they seemed apologetic and assured that they would call me to discuss and when they didn’t call me within a week I emailed again with no response. Today I called them to discuss it and they gave me a story that some child was in a hospital so that’s why they didn’t get back to me. That may have been the case, and of course, a very unfortunate situation, but it seemed as though they were trying to guilt me about their lack of communication instead of being accountable to anything. When I started discussing the issues what we had with the cake, they were very defensive. They told me that having dark splotches all over the icing was normal, even though it aesthetically ruined the cake, and as I was telling them about the lack of support in the cake to keep it from leaning, someone was in the background saying that oh I saw them put it through and the very rude gentleman on the phone told me “I don’t want call you a liar but…” I would never order a cake if I didn’t want pay the price for it so this wasn’t about getting money from them but a legitimate grievance to which they took no responsibility. In fact, they got defensive and extremely rude on the phone that I told them I could no longer engage in the conversation and ended the phone call because they were being nasty and I will not tolerate being spoken to like that and called a liar. As any mom would, I went to great lengths to organize a wonderful birthday party, and the cake was supposed to be the centerpiece, but this shop failed to deliver what they said they would with the cake, and also had a lack of politeness and customer service. I've been a client of Sugar Rush for years, thanks to a long-term employee of theirs named Carol and I can't say enough good things about them! I was blown away by her skills and creativity, so when she began her journey at Sugar Rush, I knew I had to continue my cake journey with them. If you have a vision in mind for a cake, I highly recommend Carol. She has an incredible talent for bringing ideas to life and creating cakes that exceed expectations. You won't be disappointed!

Looking back on all the cakes they've made for me over the years is such a joy. Each one is a masterpiece, and it's amazing to see how they've evolved and perfected their craft. I love admiring their work and reminiscing about the special moments each cake has been a part of.

I can't tell you how many times people have approached me at parties and other gatherings, asking who could create such incredible cakes. Sugar Rush has truly set the bar high, and there's no other competition in Columbus or the surrounding areas that even comes close.

They go above and beyond to ensure that every cake is not only visually stunning but also delicious. Their wide variety of flavors are out of this world, and they never disappoint.

3/26/2022 EDITED TO ADD: Today we visited Sugar Rush to stock up on delicious goodies and to order a cake and goodies for my daughters upcoming birthday. Frank, who has helped my family many times, was beyond helpful and patient with us and very friendly (he has the best “million dollar smile”!). He had great ideas/suggestions to add when discussing the details of the cake and cookies I was ordering. Frank is the definition of great customer service and Sugar Rush Columbus is lucky to have him on their team. Thank you for a pleasant experience, Frank and the Sugar Rush team!

Sugar Rush Columbus has become our “go-to” anytime we need sweet treats, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or just to celebrate that it’s Saturday and we survived another work-week. My daughter LOVES when I tell her we are going to visit “the bakery” (we seriously go 1 or 2 times a month) and is always eager to help me pick out whatever goodies are calling our name. Everytime we have visited, we have been warmly greeted and the staff are always so patient and friendly. I just wish we lived closer so we could visit every weekend!

I am certain we have tried everything offered at least once- The cakes and cupcakes are amazing, the mash-up cookies are always a fun treat, the milkshakes are a tasty adventure, but my favorite thing to get (and my daughters’) are the hot cocoa-bombs. Seriously, you won’t go wrong with anything you pick from Sugar Rush. 10/10...
