Fortunately, we managed to find seats at the bar, which turned out to be a great experience in itself.
For our meal, we ordered the signature dish—crispy roasted pork knuckle served with sauerkraut and potatoes. The portion was generous, and the flavors were outstanding. The pork was perfectly cooked, with crispy skin and tender, juicy meat inside. The tangy sauerkraut complemented the richness of the pork, while the potatoes added a comforting balance to the dish.

Read moreAtmosphere- 5 stars- located in the German Village section of Columbus in a historic brick house over one hundred years old this amazing restaurant takes you back in time. Decent amount of indoor seating with some on the outside. There is a full bar as well for seating. They serve many traditional German dishes and on weekends they serve their popular brunch from 9-3.
Service- 5 stars- Stephen was our server and he went above and beyond without being asked. I ordered sweet tea however they only have unsweetened tea so I decided to just have water which is brought out to you in a carafe after being seated. A few minutes later Stephen shows up with a large sweet tea from McDonald’s which is next door. This is thinking outside of the box and going that extra mile for your customers. He was very friendly and helpful with the menu choices. Wish more restaurants had Stephen’s working for them!!
Food- 5 stars- we were here for their famous weekend brunch so I order the Cornbeef Hash skillet. It came out served in a cast iron skillet super hot. Cornbeef is made onsite. Comes with homes fries, cabbage, onions and eggs cooked to your liking. We also got the French toast which is made with baguettes. Bread was so soft and covered in blueberries, strawberries and bananas. Everything was soooo good!!! You have to try Valter’s whenever visiting the German Village. Can’t wait to come back and try their...
