Ok. To start the greeting was fabulous and set up is beautiful a bit cold and i was sitting with the patio window open so i only can imagine others. Order cocktails and app which was Parmesan green beans beyond fabulous super great taste nice size. Next me personally i order a ribeye with a fully loaded bake potato and a Cesar salad. Omg not exaggerating but the Cesar salad was sooooooo lemony it was beyond tangy every bite was a quinch. I started to with the table as I’m surprised everyone table had bread but our being here after a whole Hour. Finally stale bread cam at same time as my tangy salad. The punch cocktail i received was told to Me by waiter would be sweet and was instead ripe. The steak i got was nice and juicy was nice size unfortunately bland no seasoning whatsoever disappointing i wish i went to the ROSSI on high street everything has flavor the bake potato sat long and all day you could tell it was dry and it was loaded the bacon almost broke my tooth my tooth still hurts and not no butter or enough sour cream we ate out food raw. The Waite we had was a younger male perhaps a Asian missed his was kind but his services was the slowest i ever had you over a 1000+ here amd it took 20 to 30 mins ea h check up 20 mins even after getting food. I asked for a box he said would you like me to box it as most place box in front of you he picked up all the dirty dishes grabbed my food and took with him on same trip realize we our a big party he picked up Everyone’s dirty plate too mine at the same time and too 17 minutes to bring my boxed Food back which Is a bit concerning asked for check before boxed my food we all Did took 30mins for our check and handed right back as he is slow took over 30 mins to receive y yu. Over all atmosphere great service sucks and food and without reason no flavor personally i will never attend again across the stree they had a fire and getting people I’m and out with a smile i had no smile tonight. And they had hair hairspray in woman’s But no fragrance just in case You go number 2 that weird to Me recommend i would never i will express my visit to many people and post many places because its not all worth the money or time and know you have to pay off Arlington overall it’s a 0 but I’ll give a...
Read moreI live in San Diego, but visit Columbus Ohio regularly to see my son. He had been trying to get me to eat at The Avenue Steak Tavern for years, but I’ve never gone. I’m a big fan of Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse, but decided to be open to trying something different.
I love my son’s desire for me to level up with fine dining, but this just didn’t do it for me. I was very disappointed. The experience was definitely not what I expected from such an upscale restaurant.
The food was not good at all. It lacked flavor and seasoning and everything tasted like it had been soaked in butter. My ribeye, side of green beans and even the Parmesan crusted green bean appetizer all had this overwhelming buttery taste. In addition, the rolls were cold and hard. They honestly didn’t look or taste like rolls at all. More like pillsbury biscuits. The menu could definitely benefit from a better variety of appetizers and sides as well.
Cosmetically the place looked decent. It appeared clean and maintained and the atmosphere was nice. The ceiling however, could use some TLC, as there were noticeable water stains on the ceiling tiles. Also worth mentioning is the the ladies restroom. It had one working stall. This wouldn’t have seemed so significant if there wasn’t just two of them. Moreover, the faucet water was ice cold. I gave the water ample time to get warm, but it just didn’t happen. You can’t effectively kill germs with ice cold water no matter how much soap you use.
The service was less than adequate as well. Our server seemed overwhelmed and took a long time bringing our food. The atmosphere was nice, but that’s honestly it.
If I plan to eat at a four star restaurant then a reasonable expectation would be to expect a four star meal. I think that’s a realistic expectation.
While money was not a factor, watching my son pay $230 for dinner for three was painful. Especially since the food was mediocre and I ate less than half of my meal.
Unfortunately, I do not...
Read moreI will start by saying how our families Father Day meal that cost almost 300$ with tip wasn’t up to standers and that a long obvious piece of hair was so prominent on my mother in laws plate I questioned was it purposely put there. I read down in the reviews about another hair incident hmm 🤔 with the cost of the meal the staff may need to wear hairnets or at the least pull it up and out of the way. We questioned how the rest of the meal was going to go after that!🤷🏽♀️ And the salads taste good but looked like a toddler portion. They didn’t take anything off for the inconvenience either. It was definitely not what we expected since we had read good reviews online. For the price I wouldn’t think a kids steak would not come out burnt when ordered as a medium steak!! I know a kid was eating it but a little love could of been put in it. He too deserves a steak cooked the right way also.( I have no problem paying more when the meal is amazing.) You leave feeling like it was worth it but my adult steak order was medium also and came out so raw it’s blue. Didn’t even say anything or send the steaks back because they already had to make another salad because of the hair ! I was just decided I would box my steak and finish cooking it at home later. The atmosphere is ok but definitely not diverse. Although the staff was pretty nice in their approach. We wanted to try something new in Grandview but should of stuck to our regular stomping grounds the Short North. We wanted to try the Avenue since we never been even though the Eagle said we could get right in. I regret not sticking to what I know! And the actual food taste was alright but the steak lacked seasoning. We are big Ruth Chris people when we go to a nice steakhouse we sometimes compare and I have to remember that their food is exceptional and that most fine dining steakhouses just don’t have that flavor.First impressions are everything and let’s just say I...
