Read moreI shared a very pleasant afternoon gathering earlier today [2-6-2019] with several of my friends at ZenCha Tea Salon.
The others in my party had ordered various teas and other similar beverages from a large and complicated menu; I am certain that they had enjoyed their selections.
Having eaten a large meal recently, I decided to order a cup of peppermint tea, just plain peppermint tea with nothing added.
My server initially suggested that I might like Raspberry Mint tea but I had noticed that that tea contains raspberry leaves so I had said no.
I ended up ordering what I had assumed would be just plain peppermint tea. A cute little teapot and a cup were brought to my table; I enjoyed my plain peppermint tea during an extended conversation with my friends.
But when I received my bill, I was astonished to learn that I was being charged for Peppermint Latte and that the total bill for my cup of plain peppermint tea had been $6.18.
During an extended conversation with the manager, I had repeatedly insisted that I had not ordered Peppermint Latte and the manager had repeatedly insisted that Peppermint Latte is Peppermint Latte whether or not it contains milk and that the price could not be adjusted for any variations from the official "Peppermint Latte" recipe.
We never came to any agreement on the matter but the manager eventually relented and offered me a 20% discount; therefore, my total cost for a cup of peppermint tea was reduced from $6.18 to $4.95.
I do remember being asked, when ordering my cup of plain peppermint tea, if I "like milk"; that question that had seemed irrelevant when ordering plain peppermint tea but I now realize that that question had been absolutely relevant.
I will be far more scrupulous the next time I order a cup of...
Read moreI called in for a pickup of the bacon omelette and asked the cashier if it is the same as the Bexley location, which I usually go to, and was assured the menus were the same. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the order, which costs the same exact amount as the Bexley one, and it's the worst looking food I have ever seen. There was no vegetables in the omelette and very little vegetables in the potatoes. The omelette looked like someone smashed it for 2 hours before serving it. The potatoes were hard and not cooked all the way through and the fruit was very very bland. It's just disappointing when you ask questions before placing an order and then when you pick it up it's not what was asked for. When I called back in the new cashier, a guy when I talked to a girl, said maybe the girl didn't know that since they are 2 diff locations the food isn't the same and I don't buy that excuse. Anyone taking orders for a restaurant should know how the food is prepared. It was the worst food experience I have ever had. To be really really honest. I could've gotten a better omelette from bob Evan's, tee jayes, or any other cheaper and less comparable option. You can see the photos: one from Bexley, the other from this location and you can SEE the difference, let alone...
