Penni and I love this hidden gem in Concord for its cozy atmosphere and fantastic and amazingly creative coffee drinks. This morning after visiting the Concord Farmer's Market we went to Brothers Cortado- I had a hot thai chili latte and Penni had an iced latte with muscovado sugar. Both were wonderful. It's also a great place to host an evening party or event! In early May we hosted a 60th birthday party there. The brothers who are co-owners, Chuck and Ian, blew us away with the level of support, flexibility, accomodation for our specific needs. They charged us a very reasonable fee, staffed the coffee bar with their expert baristas, but allowed us to decorate any way we wanted. It’s not a party without a dance floor, so we rented a PA system from the wonderful Strings & Things music store. We hosted about 50 people comfortably, using their seating and tables and bringing in a few of our own. The availability of Concord’s finest coffee drinks really elevated the party, made it so much more special than just putting beer, wine and a few bottles on a table.. All of our guests heaped praise on the place, with the locals saying “What an inspired choice of venue!” and the out-of-town guests saying things like “How did you find this incredible place?!?” TBC gets our highest...
Read more"The Sapper" latte is THE BEST cup of coffee I've had in I don't even know how long, maybe ever. Such a perfect balance of good espresso, cinnamon, spice from cayenne pepper, and sweet from maple syrup. The milk was steamed perfectly and was poured into an expert bit of latte art at the top. It's almost two weeks later and I'm still reeling from it. I wasn't as much of a fan of the "Iced Shaken Muscov" simply on the basis that I wasn't a fan of the particular type of oat milk they use (idk what they use but it's similar to Oatly in that it has a relatively strong flavor of it's own that it contributes). But I would like to try something with the bourbon vanilla and muscovado sugar in the future. Staff was friendly and quick with turn-around, and if I'm not mistaken from website pictures one of the owners was working at the time and was very happy to engage with a few customers about questions regarding the pastries in the case that day (which if I overheard correctly they make in-house) There is ample seating, but they do seem to get busy enough during peak weekend hours to make things a bit tight then. But I think it'd be a super nice place to hunker down with a book or to work remotely during lower...
Read moreThis is hands-down my go-to coffee shop in Concord. They are tucked away in the same plaza as the Margaritas restaurant, so you can easily miss it if you are wandering around, but it's well worth a detour.
I have visited 30+ times and the service is consistently great. They always have creative and delicious beverages, which encourages me to venture outside of my typical go-to cappuccino or latte. My favorite hot drink is the Woodsman, where they use real juniper berries in the simple syrup. My favorite cold drink is the Iced Shaken Muscov.
They also make delicious baked goods in-house. Their gluten-free (GF) options are insanely tasty and are just as good as (if not better than) a non-GF baked good... my favorite is the blueberry lemon loaf.
The staff are always super friendly and I always enjoy a good conversation with Chuck, one of the co-owner brothers (ask him about his run-ins with people who think he's Jack Black the actor/musician 😂).
I also really appreciate that they are laser-focused on being an excellent coffee shop open to all; they don't succumb to the pressure of abiding by any political statements.
I highly recommend this place for a tasty coffee or a social place to get...
