Our family had the pleasure of dining at new Zhangliang Malatang restaurant here in Concord, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The Asian hot pot style of dining they offer is a fun and interactive way to enjoy a fresh, customizable meal. You pick your ingredients, ensuring everything is as fresh as possible, and the flavors are outstanding. You can even customize the soup base by asking to reduce the spice level. The service was incredibly pleasant, with the staff making sure we felt welcomed and taken care of throughout our experience.
What really stands out is how well Zhangliang Malatang has aligned itself with current market trends offering a great value for the quality and variety of food, all while keeping the pricing fair and transparent. The simple yet modern design of the restaurant creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. And as a nice touch, the gratitude included on the bill adds a unique and thoughtful detail to the overall experience. Just come, eat, and don’t worry about anything else. By the way, they do serve beer as well too.
With over 6000 locations worldwide, it’s clear that Zhangliang Malatang has perfected the formula for success, and this location is no exception. Highly recommend and definitely...
Read moreI've been to this place twice after watching an episode of Check Please Bay Area and wanted to try Malatang, but didn't want to go all the way to Oakland. This was the next best thing. Close and almost exactly the same.
The first time I went, I had the tom yum soup with noodles and a few things. I was pretty satisfied with it. I was able to finish the noodles and the vegetables and other items I had picked out to add. The spice level was just fine for me for the tom yum.
The second time I went I ordered the classic bone broth, but asked it to be not spicy. It was a lot more difficult to eat I think because the broth wasn't clear and made it difficult to finish due to the richness.
Both times I went on the weekend and when there wasn't a lot of people so I didn't feel the need to hurry up and finish. I made sure to get what I knew I would eat and not get anything extra because taking the soup home would have been a pain.
Overall, I would come back again on a cold night as that's when it's the best to have something nice and hot to...
Read moreNot really sure why this place has such high reviews. After we paid they took out all my protein and then served me only the noodles, seafood, and broth. I had to go up and ask for my protein, which they finally brought out in a separate bowl. It felt very scammy that they did that considering we spent over $80 for food and drinks. The bowls inside the glass door that are used to load the hotpot items were all mildewy. Every bowl was wet and smelled like they had been sitting there for days. The tomyum broth was way too spicy and the lemongrass taste was overpowering to the point where I barely ended up eating. I'm SEA for context so I know my Asian spices and this was not it. The bone broth was ok, nothing special. The only thing I thought was decent was the selection of hotpot items. Otherwise this place is gross and will scam you out of your food...
