La Texanita Bakery — Restaurant in Conroe

Honestly, I dislike having to give such a bad review, especially since the lady was so nice. This place had guayaba empanadas and I got very excited. When I grabbed the first one, I saw a dark spot. I grabbed the one behind it, a bigger darker spot. IT WAS MOLD! MOLD ON THE EMPANADA!! I can’t make this up.

She said they had left them two days, giving me the emphasis in “2 days”. When I go to a bakery, I expect fresh, daily made bread. Daily! I got some cajeta empanadas, I really wanted to let go of that mold issue, and not close myself to a possibility I had held on to, for a while every time I drove passed this place. Well, the cajeta empanadas were beyond horrible! The cajeta was more like a dry and spongy paste, really weird. I had never seen cajeta look like that and have that texture!

Mold in pan de dulce is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Pan de dulce left there for two days, is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

All the other bread I got, was horrible!! I am so sorry, it makes me mad mostly because being Mexican, this is very shameful.. I would expect a Mexican Bakery to want to take the Mexican name far and high. Apparently this business doesn’t...

We asked to have our bread put in a box and the girl Saud it would be $1 more and it was fine. As a new girl started putting the bread in a box she said it was 1.50. I asked her of the increase and she said that's what it was. Not even being polite. Customer service training is needed...
