The restaurant was an absolute joke from start to finish. Came today for Cinco de Mayo on lunch from work. Called ahead to ask if 2 people could grab lunch within an hour-- the customer service rep (not at the restaurant) could barely understand English. Asked if we had a reservation, when I said "no" she said, "Its okay come in we are not busy yet." I thought, GREAT! Got to the restaurant and 3 servers were standing up front talking to each other, whilst I waited for a host to seat us. We got a half table half booth, which was fine, and noticed no one else in that section of the restaurant. We figured it would be a nice IN and OUT lunch. Our server was a young guy, whom which we ordered 2 mojitos and asked if they can be flavored like the margaritas. He had no clue. I said it was fine bring mine as is, my colleague then changed her order and asked if they served Malibu rum. He again had no idea, so for times sake she ordered a diet coke. He returned to the table with a Diet coke, and two mojitos. We laughed and said, sorry for the confusion, that we only wanted 1 mojito since she switched to the soda. He then left the table for several minutes to discuss this with his manager even though I mentioned we would like to go ahead and order. We finally got our order in, Al Pastor Tacos for me, and a Chicken Taco Salad (no beans) for her. She is highly allergic to beans, nuts, and amongst shellfish etc. We were very explicit to say, "Please no black beans, she is highly allergic if consumed." He typed it into the key pad as such. My tacos came out less than a minute later, while we waited 15 mins for her salad. The salad came without the avocados and corn as advertised, and upon taking a few bites off the top she realized the entire bottom of the bowl was covered in black beans. We told the server why she could not consume the salad and asked for the check. The bill was $60! When I asked to see the bill I noticed the other mojito and the salad were still on the check. He went to the manager again to have these items removed. Then the bill was still $41. I asked if I could review it again, and for a 2p table there was an 18% gratuity added on which reflected from the original bill. The tip was $10.20. Being from the service industry for many years I am a habitual OVERTIPPER, but never have I had a 2 person lunch have gratuity attached. I paid $41 for tacos and mojito. Never again! Lastly the server stayed holding the credit machine in my face, requesting an additional tip which the options were 3%, 5%, or 7% HA! Unreal...

This visit was just shockingly bad. We try to enter the restaurant that has no host, no sign to direct us costumers, and no server tried to help sit us down, WE had to ask to get sat (mind you, it was empty, it had max 7 tables with costumers). After begging to get sat basically, we sit with no menus, no drinks, no acknowledgment. After ten minutes our server came to us and asked for our drinks. I do admit the food and drinks came very quickly but as soon as the food came out we still had no plates no utensils and empty cups. We had empty cups throughout half the meal and kept getting ignored by a lady waitress who we tried to gain attention from. Absolute fail to acknowledge such a small and easy table. (Also, we had no attitude at all and kept it nice and classy the entire time). At this moment we’re just talking about how much we should tip for this horrible service. We all agreed for a good $5-7 (I always tip 22%) because the service was actually AWFUL. That’s not the best part, when the bill comes he puts out the machine in front of us to pay, it said $80 for three cokes, one enchilada, one cheese quesadilla, and one order of pastor tacos, I payed the bill feeling pressure from our server, he never once bothered to give us the bill to double check our order and he never gave us our receipt at the end either he just simply told us to tap here. When it came down to the tip, I only got the option on 4%, 6%, or 7%, me being nice I give him the highest % since it was only $5 the same amount we agreed on anyways just to find out at the end when we were wondering why the bill was so high we ask for the receipt and he seemed flustered by our question, he comes back with it just to find out a 18% service charge was already included and we NEVER knew. Our server not only scammed us by never telling us gratuity was already included and watching us put another extra $5 for his tip, he never gave us our bill or receipt that tells you in the bottom what he should’ve told us, “A 18% service fee will be added to your check. Please feel free to raise or remove gratuity at your discretion”. He never gave us the bill or receipt to get more money. TERRIBLE. ALWAYS ASK FOR YOUR RECEIPT! 1/10 service, food not worth it. Ruined our day. We didn’t even bother confronting him, this review should be enough. Never visiting again and I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. Highly unorganized and unprofessional. Receipt is attached below. He ended up with a $16 tip from us when we agreed on $5. Save your time and go somewhere else.

We were at the mall to do a little shopping and have some Build-A-Bears filled. For me it was lunch time and I had just seen that this one had finally opened. I was excited about a good Mexican restaurant being available. There is quite a selection of food available at the mall and even nearby outside but most of it is fast or fast casual food. The fact that you can access this one from inside by the food court but it is a sit-down restaurant made for a nice treat. As we approached we noticed the unusual decorations that they have. They have quite a few skeletons around about the place that are done up in various ways. I felt it really added some character and charm to the place. We were seated immediately. There is a single menu on each table in a stand so we had to take turns going over it. One side as the food and the other has alcohol. I need table they also have a napkin holder like old time diners used to have and they also have a container filled with plastic forks for everyone to use. Our server was friendly and attentive. As we are all working and being a little healthier we only got water to drink which they put a line in for us. My companion shows the Al Pastor Tacos and the Chicken Tinga Quesadilla while I got the Catrina's Nachos which are made with chorizo. All our orders were much bigger than we anticipated but tasted great. We each got to try each others and still had plenty of leftovers once we were done. The tacos come with five street tacos and our very well filled. The quesadilla is huge and the nachos were one of the biggest plates I have seen in a very long time. All the food was flavorful and quite well prepared. They are not inexpensive but what you get for the money is well worthwhile. In the end we decided we could have ordered one dish and shared it between the three of us and probably still had some left over. We were very happy with the entire experience and I look forward to trying more the next time we can stop in.

I came to this restaurant with high hopes to enjoy my meal. Unfortunately I cannot say anything positive about this restaurant. We arrived and my party and several others stood at the entrance waiting for someone to seat up. 5 minutes later we walked into the restaurant to have someone apologize and asked us to wait a little to give him a chance to take up to a table. We were seated in the bar area. The bartender brought us two menus for our party of 4. No big deal as we could share. Bartender came back a few minutes later and we gave our orders. We were given a bowl of chips that were stale and cold. My wife's and my son's food came out rather quickly. I was impressed how quick they came to them. The bartender gave one set of silverware to my wife and no one else. As I watched them eat their food, I was wondering where were the food items for his girlfriend and mine. Several minutes later they finally brought out her quesadilla. So I am still watching them eat while all I had were the stale chips to eat. My wife offered me one of her food item. She later confirmed to me that the chicken was dry. My chicken quesadilla finally arrived. I had no silverware so I had to use the stale chip to put the sour cream and other items on my quesadilla. All the entrees do not have sides. I have never heard of a Mexican restaurant that did not give you rice and beans with your order. For the amount that they charge, there should be sides. I ate one quarter of my quesadilla and could not touch anymore. It was bland and again the chicken was dry. I insisted to have it removed from my check and asked for a manager. After telling him about the poor service of delivering the meal separately and all the other issues, he removed 50 percent from my food items. I did not realized that gratuity was included on the check. I wish I saw that as I would have had it removed. There is not a chance I will return and I am looking forward to going to a quality Mexican restaurant for a great meal as I am still starving. Stay away from...
