I am honestly not sure how to handle this review - between having the absolute best restaurant experience I have ever had to pretty much the absolute worst within two days of each other. The words - not the rating - reflect my actual review. We went on a Thursday evening and could not have had a better experience. Simply EVERYTHING was perfect. The atmosphere - moody, relaxing, and luxurious. The service was the best service I have ever had anywhere in my entire life - we were assisted by multiple people who anticipated our needs all throughout the experience. They were professional, friendly, and made the experience so worth it. Service was FAST. The food was absolutely to die for - bursting with flavor and so memorable. We should have left it at that dreamlike experience. We were enthusiastic to go back the next day - Friday. We were extremely excited because the night before, we were on a time limit so we didn’t get to explore the menu and order nearly as much as we would have liked. On the second night, we were prepared to order appetizers, entrees, sides, drinks, and dessert(s). I don’t know if we were marked up as a low paying table from the night before and were treated differently due to that - I honestly don’t know what happened. The restaurant was understandably busy for a Friday night. Despite there being many free tables when we arrived, we were sat on the outside edge of the restaurant which unfortunately really lacks the ambiance that makes the place so special. It likely would have been fine, if only we didn’t have to sit there for three hours in total. I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But, in a horrible and pretty inexcusable turn of events, we were not served our entrees until an entire TWO AND A HALF HOURS after being seated. I have photos with timestamps to prove this. What was much more devastating was that when the food somehow finally found its way to our table, after we were past the point of even being hungry, it was bland, soggy, wet, clearly missing key elements, and completely unappetizing. I know that Crossroads is known for being the best of the best in vegan food so I honestly was completely unprepared for such a disappointing, awkward, and unsatisfying experience. My partner and I are two people who don’t like to cause a fuss or create confrontation and it put us in such an uncomfortable situation having to flag down staff and still be ignored throughout the night that we had such high hopes for. I truly don’t even really know what to chalk this up to, because we never really had a problem with how the staff treated us and I don’t want to blame them if they were doing their best, we just felt ignored. It must have been an off night with the waitstaff and kitchen, but what we wanted to be a night of vegan heaven was pretty much a complete nightmare and a total waste of our time and money. I honestly feel embarrassed that we stayed there so long, but I honestly was just so excited to try the food. Also, I am not the first person to note that the bananas in the banana pudding come ROTTEN, as in dark brown, stringy, rotten. That was pretty surprising. I had absolutely no question of food quality from my first impression - but my second experience had me seriously questioning everything. The lasagna that was delightfully crisp on the edges the first night and exploding with flavor was sad, sloppy, and weak the second night and not worth the money whatsoever. It is so incredibly important for me to support vegan businesses and I have never left a negative review (hence why I don’t want to give them a low amount of stars). I just simply have to speak on the disastrous experience I had, and I hate the idea that if I ever go back, I have no idea what type of experience to expect. I hope everyone that reads this gets to experience the incredible time that I did on my first visit because that...
Read moreTHIS RESTAURANT HITS ALL THE MARKS! If you are vegan living in or traveling to Las Vegas this is a MUST try. Even if you are not a vegan Crossroads is still a must try! I myself am a vegan but my parents are not... and quite skeptical of my newly adopted eating habits as we all know how that can go sometimes. Lol. We were referred here by the Maitre'd at Wallys when I explained how difficult it can be finding a well prepared vegan meal on the strip. Vegans are usually forced to make a selection from the salads and sides options on a menu but Crossroads makes it easy. Everything on the menu is vegan so there is no second guessing or wondering about what is being used to prepare the dish and the food preparation, dish esthetic and presentation and overall taste were second to none. We ate family style and ordered the calamari to start, chicken milanese, spaghetti carbonara and skirt steak. My mom and dad could not believe the chicken was plant based, cooked to absolute perfection served under a bed of arugula and tomatoes just like the real thing. My carbonara was AMAZING, a piece of artwork. This is something I have been wanting to eat since becoming vegan but obviously the cream sauce and pancetta make that difficult. Crossroads nails the execution using a vegan cream sauce, also substituting mushrooms( I think) for the pancetta which by taste and texture you would not know the difference. The spaghetti used in this dish and the angel hair served on the side of the milanese were prepared fresh, fantastic! Service was spot on and prompt, never was a water glass empty and although I don't drink my parents had the house malbec which they said was great. For dessert my mom had a espresso martini and we all split the banana pudding and brownies with ice cream all of which were heavenly. I will also note that I was very impressed with the quality of all the ingredients used overall. I know many vegans have issues eating out plant based because of the oils and salts used in the meat and cheese dishes, sometimes leaving you feeling bloated after a meal. Not at Crossroads, not even a little. We all left extremely satisfied and will be back again soon, hopefully in May. I also want to specifically thank Rebecca, the Maitre'd/Manager for taking such wonderful care of us during our experience here. She went above and beyond making sure all of our needs were met for this little family reunion of sorts. We all look forward to seeing you again in May with a much larger group. Can't wait. Thank you again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND...
Read moreI went to their $48.00 pp all you can eat buffet; it's overpriced but I had to try it. I ate there with an open mind if it's really good I will eat there every year when I visit Vegas. Once was enough... I am a healthy vegan due to health reasons. I mostly eat vegetables and select fruit and very little carbs. I am healthiest if I avoid gluten; lots of gluten here. However a very nice chef custom made the rigatoni rice noodles which helped. This buffet only had fresh brussel sprouts and even the breakfast potatoes seemed frozen and deep fried out of the bag. They had a Caesar salad and one other average salad, sliced oranges and some grapes. There were blueberries and strawberries sparsely garnishing the vegan yogurt...that's it for fresh fruit and veggies...they fell way short here There were not any vegan labor intensive recipes in the whole buffet. Everything was good and nothing was bad...but not one dish stood out as ...oh yum, I have to return to this buffet. However, here is what I liked; basil pesto pasta sauce or spicy vodka sauce pasta. The basil pasta was better. The tiramisu was good but good thing....there were only 4 deserts to choose from and the tiramisu was the most upscale compared to vegan brownies, lemon cookies or lemon cake which I never got to try because they didn't bring out more. Manager at Crossroads could immediately improve what you get included for $48.00 by including coffee or herbal tea; include a handmade vegan lasagna and create repeat customers? Include barbeque cauliflower, mixed roasted vegetables to feed the people who don't want to eat vegan frankenfood such as the processed bacon on the buffet. I didn't eat any scrambled eggs, pancakes, processed diced potatoes (as basic as it comes and Golden corral level of taste with salt), tasted the breakfast sausage and it was store bought too). Very little healthy vegan and next time in Vegas I will go have brunch at Modern Vegan or Chaga Root, or ....anywhere I can get fresh vegetables. The menu here is excellent with some items very rare to find on other vegan restaurant menus such as zucchini blossoms. If you don't mind unhealthy vegan you will enjoy more items on this buffet than I did. I hope the manager will implement some of my suggestions in order to build a solid base of repeat customers.? I am a level 8 Google guide reviewer and rarely write a negative review, but $48.00 for the quality of healthy options here is way too greedy. 48.00 would buy you a couple good quality dishes off the...
