5 Star, 10/10, two thumbs up, standing ovation - couldn't recommend more! Good for you for doing your research and reading reviews but I can tell you right now this is the experience of a lifetime and should not be missed.
My boyfriend and I recently visited Las Vegas for a weekend and wanted to get off of the strip for an adventure. He is much more experienced with guns than I am but I was all about wanting to do a helicopter ride so it seemed like the perfect combo. Something that checked boxes for both of us.
Upon meeting Ben at our pickup location we knew right away that we were in good hands. The trip from the strip to Sandy Valley is a quick 45 minutes and when we arrived at Gunship's range we were greeted by Roland and Bradley. All three of them made us feel incredibly welcome, comfortable, and safe right off the bat.
After signing our lives away (during which i was perusing the lovely merchandise they have in the office) and an informative briefing from the team, we headed to the range to shoot the Barrett before heading to the chopper. This was a dream come true for my boyfriend and after getting his 3 shots in ($20 per) he had a permanent smile on his face. I will say it put a huge smile on my face to watch him be in his element and get in to the zone with Ben and Roland.
Next up we headed to the helicopter. Bradley (the pilot) informed us that in addition to shooting targets from the helicopter they were now offering the ability to fly to the top of the mountain after - THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED! Only $100 extra and it was worth every cent! I know all the extras can add up in a situation like this but I promise you after you will have the most incredible memory of your trip to Sandy Valley and a story that will make people's jaws drop.
The helicopter experience (for a couple that had never been on one before) was the highlight of our trip. As I mentioned before the team is incredibly knowledgeable and informative, so directions were clear and we felt safe from start to finish. Bradley and Ben took us up and although i know I am not an expert marks-woman they sure did make me feel like one! Then it was time for the mountain top - the most spectacular views with a little bit of a thrill! I am so glad that Bradley told us about this add on (which isn't advertised on the site yet) because that experience will stay with me forever. After landing I was wishing we could do it all over again.
Thank you to Bradley, Ben, and Roland for the experience of a lifetime. They have plans to make Gunship Helicopters even more amazing than it already is with more add on's and experiences coming soon so we are looking forward to making the trip back when we are able.
Additions I would recommend: Ground shooting (price varies) Video package ($100 - the final product is great, includes audio so you can hear your conversations while on the helicopter and also allows you to bring your phones on board for more personal photos) Additional ammo for in-flight trip $100 mountain top trip (NOT...

From start to finish, our experience with Gunship Helicopters was absolutely first-class. My friend Casey, a Marine veteran and I both combat vets of the GWOT were picked up directly from Caesars Palace by Ryan, a true professional in every sense of the word. From the moment we met him, Ryan exuded courtesy, professionalism, and enthusiasm for what was clearly more than just a job to him. During the drive out to the range, he provided us with a thorough and detailed safety briefing, making sure we were informed, comfortable, and excited for what was to come. His knowledge and calming demeanor set the tone for a safe and exhilarating day.His knowledge about Hollywood films that were shot around the range was also fun to learn. If there is any Fallout fans of the video game franchise . Your in for a treat
Upon arriving at the gun range, we were immediately impressed by the level of organization and professionalism displayed by the entire Gunship Helicopters crew. The check-in process was smooth, and every staff member we encountered made us feel welcome and appreciated, especially as veterans. Rowland and his team went out of their way to recognize our service by offering us a veterans discount — a gesture that was both meaningful and deeply appreciated.
One of the most standout aspects of the experience was how at home Casey and I felt around the crew. As combat vets, there’s often an unspoken comfort in being around others who’ve walked a similar path — and with most of the Gunship Helicopters crew being former military, that sense of ease was immediate. The camaraderie, professionalism, and shared language of service made the whole experience feel familiar and genuine, like being among brothers-in-arms.
The experience itself was nothing short of surreal. After another thorough briefing with the flight crew, we were loaded onto the helicopter. The adrenaline really kicked in as the rotors spun up and we lifted off into the sky. The flight crew was exceptional — calm, competent, and clearly highly trained. They made us feel secure while still keeping the vibe fun and exhilarating.
And then came the main event — firing a 249 SAW out of a helicopter. Words can hardly capture the rush of unleashing controlled bursts over the desert landscape, feeling the thump of the weapon, and watching the impact downrange really sparked the flame inside of us that is dampened down by civilian life. It was much needed and made us feel alive again.
The team at Gunship Helicopters operates with a level of precision and professionalism that made the entire experience smooth, safe, and unforgettable. Every person we interacted with, from Ryan to Rowland to the flight crew, went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. If you're looking for an adrenaline-pumping adventure with world-class service — especially as a veteran — this is as good as it gets. You’ll feel...
Read moreThe first point I need to make is how seriously they take safety, and for good reason as guns can be dangerous if not handled safely. Thankfully the guys here cover all angles from safety videos and briefings to standing with you at all times ensuring you're handling the weapon correctly. However, do understand this does not take away from the fun so long as you're competent you can (forgive me) fire at will 😂👌...I would like to give a huge thanks to Joe James and Roland as they was all fantastic. Joe was with me on MP5 Sub and the M4. Pretty much Joe was close to me at all times and was supporting my shoulder from the recoil, as a beginner you really don't realise the recoil on a fully automatic rifle because it literally does start to lift that barrel to the sky 😅.... Roland was with me on the 50cal sniper and the advice I would give is to hug it tight as that beast has some serious recoil 😂😂💪🏼.... Roland was also in the chopper with me and once you are safely in the air and safety strapped in he'll load the weapon and let you fire the crap out the targets... This is movie stuff 😎... lastly I would also like to mention Jenelle who came picked me up from my hotel and she is an absolute star. Very happy girl and was chatting all the way (an hour drive) to the range and was giving commentary on all the sights to see in the Nevada desert and what to expect at the range. She also took many pics and vids for me that I can't wait to show to my buddies when I get back to England 😁 If this is something you're thinking of doing and are a little worried, don't be as you're in good hands. Trust me, it's a lot of fun... Thanks again gunship...
