Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Channelview

Ordered two sliders and a side of mac and cheese. The flavors of the spices were actually good and it had a nice kick but I couldn't taste the chicken itself. The coleslaw was only there for the crunch and I really couldn't tell what they were going for because it got lost in everything else. The pickles were alright, but I can't really take points away for that because of my bias towards Del-Dixi pickles. Buns were warm and toasted but folded pretty quickly to everything it was trying to hold in. The most forgettable thing on the sliders was the "cheese" sauce. I couldn't really tell if it was adding anything except stickiness because it didn't taste like anything. You can skip the Dave's sauce. The worst thing from my order was the mac and cheese which is a shame because it looked like it was packed full of flavor. It was very bland. Everyone complaining about the wait time, literally CHOSE to wait in the line. Like they literally drove to this location and seen the long line and still decided to get in the long line and wait and still complained. THATS WEIRD! Haha but anyways…

This is a brand new location so yes there is going to be a guarantee wait. DUH!!

On to the pricing. The pricing is actually not expensive, its just not cheap.

On to the food. The location on Westheimer never fails but at this location I have noticed a difference in quality. I been twice since the opening and the first time the food was on point and the other time, the chicken was a bit more salty.

I had Dave’s Hot Chicken (Wallisville Rd)for the first time today. I ordered the #1 two tenders & fries. It was pretty good. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious. I tried it without the Dave’s Sauce and it was still good. I later decided to add the Dave’s sauce and honey for a tasty combo on top of my chicken tenders. The crunch of the chicken was superb and the fries were hot and crunchy. I got the medium flavoring and it was just the right amount of heat for my taste. If you are more adventurous and (unlike me) if you don’t have heartburn, then try hot. Lol Customer service was great!
