Deli Delicious #35 - Oakhurst & Hwy 41 — Restaurant in Oakhurst

My receipt does not show that I ordered a Caesar salad, but that is what I asked for and I was not served a true Caesar salad. When I was at the front placing my order I had stated that I only wanted the dark part of the romaine in my salad. But they ended up giving me a different kind of salad that had sour dill pickles and other toppings that I did not want. I asked for a manager right away, but the lady named Nicole may have only been a supervisor. But she claimed to be the manager of that location. All she had to do was chop up a little bit of the dark hearty part of the romaine lettuce, and not try to charge me all over again for a whole new $5 dollar salad! She raised her voice at me, rolled her eyes, and demanded that I pay twice! She lacked basic human kindness because she was very argumentative. She even yelled across the room and made a scene because I walked away and would not accept the salad. She belittled me in front of the whole restaurant during a very busy time of the day. I regret bringing my guest to this location to have to witness horrible treatment from a supervisor. Also, I didn't order a sandwich because their bread is dry the majority of the time. I got a sandwich here for lunch and was fairly decent. Got very little bacon on the turkey/bacon sandwich (despite asking for extra) but I liked the fresh bread and I was hungry so it tasted good.

I tried to come for dinner on another night, just past 7PM. Despite listing online (and on the door) that they close at 8PM, the door was locked and the several employees cleaning up on the inside watched me try to come in and motioned that they were closed. Because of limited dining in the area (and because I drive a company vehicle that must be parked back at the hotel by 8) I didn’t have time to order anything from somewhere else and essentially went without dinner. Such an awful experience.

Change your posted hours or stay open for them (maybe send a few employees home if it’s slow) and then customers can plan...

We just happened to stop here when we wanted something healthier than a burger and needed something quick after a long drive to visit Oakhurst.

OMG, the sandwiches are amazing. We had the sourdough roll which is so soft - and the bread often "makes" a good sandwich for me. Had the "small" sandwich - which is a pretty good size and filled me up.

I ordered the ham & turkey with "the works" which includes all the normal extras and mayo/mustard & oil/vinegar. I wasn't sure how those three condiments worked together, but they were great! Everything was fresh!

The service team were super-friendly and the owner/manager checked to make sure everything was good.
