Man oh man...I wish I could give them a zero star.
The service at this restaurant is absolutely horrible. Rude all around.
I give them a call and ask "is the galbi jjim still available?" They answered "yes". Then I proceeded to ask "can I please get that spicy?" She response"spicy what!?" (In a rude tone). (In my mind I'm thinking..oh I dunno spicy pizza? Or possibly spicy sausage 🤦). I tell them "spicy galbi jjim please". At this point I'm pretty annoyed.
I go to the restaurant to pick up my food and from the start the waitress are very indifferent to me. But I tell myself to brush it off and that the food will make me feel better. Oh how wrong I was....
I go home and open my food...I was floored. Not only was the side dishes dry as if they been through a desert, my galbi jjim had one piece of meat!! In a giant tub of soup and few little veggies. Last time I recalled this was galbi jjim not soy sauce soup. And you know what?? It wasn't even spicy! I was livid at this point.
I called the restaurant and complained to them about the service and the food. Where I was baffled was that they were so nonchalant about having one piece of meat in a $19 dish! I asked for a refund and they told me to bring the dish back.
I go back to the restaurant and return my food. The rude lady tosses the recipt in front of me. I'm fuming at this point. I just turn around and walk away as one of the other lady shouts "I'm sorry"
Moral of the story...DO NOT GO TO THIS...
Read morePleasantly surprised that we stumbled upon this gem. After leaving a late night party we were looking for a place to eat other than iHOP near our home so Yechon in Annandale was out of the question. It was too far even though we love that place and have made amazing memories there.
Upon arriving, we noticed that this place was poppin'. There were so many people at 1AM just having fun and eating good looking food. The "traditional" hot barley tea in a glass that they gave right when you're seated warmed me right up!
Since we didnt speak or know Korean, the food pictures on the wall helped a lot. They offered more of the adventurous slices of the cow or pig that I am 100% down for. I am not sure what soups we ordered but they were really good. THe soup I got (some sort of beef stock with knuckles) did lack salt but I later learned that you're supposed to add the salt to your liking. All the condiments were on the table to fix this.
The side dishes were roughly cut and BIG that were not bite size pieces which was fine and SUPER flavorful. We LOVED the kimchi so much! the bean paste taste was a lot stronger in flavor that we really enjoyed!
Definitely will go back here. We want to try more...
Read moreWe had a family gathering of 10, and the service and food were excellent. I honestly don't know what some of the negative reviewers were complaining about. We ordered everything from soups (seolleong tang, kkori seolleong tang, yuk gae jang) and marinated meats (beef bulgogi, spicy pork), to the dumplings and steamed pork belly (bossam). Everything was brought out in a timely manner and was delicious, particularly the soups, beef bulgogi, and bossam (generous portions and super tender - perfect when properly eaten as a wrap with the provided cabbage, condiments, and fillings). The side dishes were good, too, with the radish kimchi being my favorite. My only minor complaint is that the size of the cabbage leaves for the bossam was slightly on the small side, but I was still happy to eat them all, and when I asked for more, they brought it out without much delay. The staff did a wonderful job accommodating our large party and all of our different requests. They were professional, helpful, and kind the entire time. Very impressed that they're able to keep up this level of service as a 24/7 restaurant. I definitely plan on going back. I had a great first...
