🔥 GYRO KING – SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA (Now Open in Brookfield Plaza!) 🔥
📍 7000B Brookfield Plaza, Springfield, VA 22150 The DMV just got a serious flavor upgrade — Gyro King has officially landed in Springfield, Virginia, bringing the same NYC street energy that made their Brooklyn locations famous. From sizzling platters to that legendary white sauce drizzle, this is real Zabiha Halal street food done right.

What We Crushed
🥙 Lamb & Chicken Family Platter Combo 🥩 Grilled Lamb Gyro 🍗 Chicken Tikka Combo Platter
Each plate hits with bold, balanced flavors — juicy meat, aromatic rice, crisp salad, and soft pita layered under creamy white sauce and a spicy red drizzle that wakes it all up. The lamb is tender and smoky, the chicken tikka packs a little kick, and the combo platters are built to feed two (but you’ll want it all to yourself).
⸻
100% Zabiha Halal — Certified, Trusted, Respected
Gyro King proudly serves 100% Zabiha Halal meat, hand-slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines and sourced from trusted suppliers — the same standard followed across all NYC locations.
Each menu board features the brand’s promise:
“All Meat Used is Zabiha Halal (Hand Slaughtered).”
That’s the difference. It’s the foundation of their flavor, their faith, and their following. This isn’t imitation Halal — it’s the real deal, certified and respected across multiple states.
⸻
The Vibe: Brooklyn Energy, Virginia Flavor
Step inside the new Brookfield Plaza location and you’ll instantly catch that NYC halal cart meets modern counter-service feel — bright LED menu boards, sizzling grills, and staff moving with quick rhythm and precision.
It’s got that same Flatbush hustle, now set up right off Old Keene Mill Road. Clean counters, efficient service, and that unmistakable Gyro King aroma that hits before you even order.
Whether you’re grabbing takeout or eating in, the Springfield spot nails the vibe — urban energy with suburban convenience.

I came in really looking forward to trying this place, especially after it was recommended by so many people, which makes it even more unfortunate that our experience turned out the way it did. I’m giving 4 stars not because everything was perfect, but because I genuinely want to see this restaurant improve and live up to its potential.
We ordered the chicken and lamb over rice. The chicken was very bland and lacked flavor compared to other rice bowl spots. It really needs more seasoning and a proper marinade to make it stand out. The lamb over rice, on the other hand, was way too salty, which made it hard to enjoy even though the portion size was generous.
We also tried the lamb chops, which were advertised as “gourmet lamb chops,” but what we received were flat, thin cuts that didn’t resemble the picture at all. Honestly, I couldn’t even tell if it was lamb or veal. The dish definitely needs a better char and some attention to the recipe. The menu photo shows something completely different, so either the image should be updated or the dish improved to match what’s being shown.
Before leaving, I shared my feedback with the guys at the counter, and one of them said he’d look into it. I really hope management actually takes this seriously because the place itself is great and really nice, with a welcoming setup and clean atmosphere. That part was genuinely impressive. The main issue is with the food quality, which needs more attention and refinement.
I’m not writing this to hurt a new business but to help it grow. Sometimes a bad experience doesn’t have to mean a bad review; it can be a chance to improve. I truly want this restaurant to succeed, but they need to focus on flavor, consistency, and presentation to make...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars for the above two! I would. I got three gyro sandwiches and lg fries, the most horrible tasting gyro I ever had! The meat wasn’t cooked properly it was half raw on the inside of it! I had to finish cooking it in a skillet! So as not to get food poisoning! The staff has no customer service skills what so ever! They were very unfriendly and rude! But to only to people of their own race! But I noticed when to white individuals entered the establishment, the welcoming committee came out of the wood work! To greet and welcome these people in to their business! They went above and beyond to please these two and to make sure they were happy! All the meanwhile the rest of the clientele, who were the majority of middle Eastern race, didn’t even get a….thank you, have a good night, Nothing people would be given their food and just walk straight out, with not so much as wave goodbye! I would never give my money to this place again! I would suggest to anyone to skip trying out, it’s not worth it! Especially with all the Halal places right next to it that serve the same thing, if not even better food! As well as all the other halal places like blazin and halal guys in the area this place no...
