Read more[Above all, will I be back?] If you need a bit more quality Sushi than AYCE sushi restaurants or Japanese food, this is the place. As a Vegas local, Sapporo Revolving Sushi is the best revolving sushi joint in Vegas by far! They deliver foods via tray robot (see my picture) and everything (foods, service, atmosphere, price and cleanness) was on point! I highly recommend and yes I will come back!
Food Not only sushi and rolls they have other a la carte like Ramen, Udon, tempura, etc. Just one thing, ordering foods from the screen seemed more fresh instead picking up from the conveyer belt (especially tuna). They were generous for extra pickled ginger and wasabi.
Tuna & Toro sushi: They were fresh and soft.
Spicy tuna handroll ($3.99/ea): The tuna had a good portion and was fresh and yummy!
Spicy miso ramen ($6.5): It was surprisingly good enough for the price! It came in good portion with fresh beansprout and char Siu meat.
Sapporo Sour cocktail ($9.95): It was pretty good. Jameson whiskey, green tea syrup, aquafaba, lime juice and peach Shnapps. Highly recommend!
I liked they serve the ice water with a slice of lemon already.
Ambience A simple and modern interior in black and white. Lively and casual. It has about +140 seats and every booth was separated with glass partition. It was not busy, got seated right away around 6pm. You order food either picking up from the conveyor belt or a screen on your table (specialty foods).
Service The hostess seemed (May 3, 2023, at dinner time) to be cold but other staff were all friendly and not pushy. Our server was wonderful! She was welcoming, nice, quick and attentive. She explained well for the first time visitor. Kept checking if there is anything needed in a timely manner. Good vibe.
Hygiene Plates, cups, glasses, tables and the floor, everything was clean.
Price Anything from conveyor belt was $2.99 and the total bill was around $72 before tip for two adults. Everything was meeting my expectation for this price point.
Restroom: 2 unisex bathrooms with only one toilet each. It was clean, spacious and well maintained.
Location It is one of the same restaurants through out Vegas, located on the busy Spring Mountain Road in Chinatown, less than 15 minutes from the Strip.
Parking There are not many parking spots in front of the restaurant but the sign at the door says you can park anywhere in the plaza.
ETC Happy hour after 10pm: Discounted beers (check my photo)
*I was compelled to write this review because of an auto break-in and theft right in front of Sapporo, which I was initially going to let go, but a recent notification that my stolen device ended up in Shenzhen, China which apparently devices snatched in the West coast are sold to… it just seems “insider job” to me. Sucks it has to come down to a negative review for a restaurant to take things seriously. Read on if you’re interested…
Like anyone else, I rely on google reviews to guide my dining choices, seeking out popular spots with great reviews. These reviews make for a good experience, especially the food and service. It was our first time visiting Las Vegas and of all the places to dine in, we chose Sapporo for the cool conveyor belt sushi. We just arrived from traveling and we let convenience and fatigue get to us. Unfortunately, we have so much regret. The sushi was decent and we appreciated the thrill and convenience of picking a variety of foods right at our fingertips. Our waitress Min was sweet and attentive. However, the experience quickly soured when we returned to find our SUV trunk window smashed in and our luggages stolen. You can blame us for not being more vigilant, I'd blame us too! But it's challenging to hide anything in an SUV when all windows are conspicuous. What’s disappointing is that the restaurant owner was indifferent to our plight.
EVERYONE is aware that the auto theft is a recurring problem in the Chinatown area, and a simple warning to patrons could have made a significant difference. Even the waitress was empathetic and shared that her car was broken into a week ago, too! Fukunaga Burger posts pictures of the thieves on his door and warns patrons to re-check their car before entering his establishment. The owner of Fukunaga burger actually cares enough to spread awareness and curb this chronic issue. You might think this has nothing to do with their restaurant, but I believe that when a restaurant is aware of such a chronic issue right outside its doors, there’s a integral responsibility to inform customers. Just read the previous review by Shawn Dorisian about Sapporo restaurant yourself. It’s not just about serving food, it’s about creating a safe and welcoming environment. If Sapporo is to be a true destination for tourists and diners, addressing this issue is important.
So, while I can appreciate the convenience and charm of the conveyor belt sushi, my experience was damaged by the lack of awareness and support from the restaurant. Consider this a warning for...
