Was really excited to eat McAllister's for dinner. Made our order over the phone, went to get it and got it home and my potatoe salad was missing. So I called then up and asked the nice lady on the phone if they would bring it to me (why should I have to get back out in my car to fix their mistake). She was wasnt sure and told me she would go and ask. Her manager Ethan picked up and asked me what was going on. I told him I had assumed the lady had told him and his reply was "well why dont you tell me" in a very defensive manner, which of course raised my defense as well. I explained the situation above and he offered me my potatoe salad, just come back by and pick it up with a free dessert. I told him I was only interested in the item I paid for they had neglected to send. His defensive speech became more annoyed and after that and then said " we don't deliver" I informed him i was not asking for a delivery just him rectifying a mistake. This has happened to me before at McDonald's and they have had no problem bringing my missing items, but this gentleman just plain out (and rudely) declined to do so. The problem with customer service at this location is a top down issue. The initial conversation was very pleasant but the manager was very unprofessional. I have not made up my mind as to returning to this location but it will definitely not be my first choice when dining...
Read moreI was taking my son and his wife out to dinner on Sunday evening 11/5/17. We arrived at McAlister's at 6:45 and there was a fairly short line, 2 couples in front of us. at 7:02 we had our order placed. We sat at our table for 30 minutes and still had not received our food. I watched 2 other customers go up and get their money refunded and leave. We decided to do the same, the Manager came up with some lame excuse about being understaffed and that he hoped to have more people within the next 2 weeks. There were 2 people taking orders, 2 filling to-go orders and at the very least 4 in the kitchen. Understaffing was not the problem. I took my refund (which I was told would take 2 or 3 days to come through on my card) I have been here in the past and it is usually pretty good but it will be a long, long time before they see me again. I felt as though the manager should have offered some sort of compensation for the bad experience but I guess he didn't feel that way. Also restaurant was filthy, dirty tables and lots of food...
Read moreMcAlister's is a chain fast-casual restaurant in a similar vein to any number of mall food court sandwich shops, like Steak Escape or Charley's. The food is good, albeit overpriced by a dollar or two. I'll go back for that reason alone.
The store was dirty. Several tables were left unbussed throughout the hour-ish we spent there, and there was a pile of rags or something on the floor behind the counter. When my girlfriend and I walked in, two people argued over who was going to take our order, and not in the "let me do it" way. Once that was settled, they spent the entire time we were trying to order talking to each other, over us. They brought us the wrong food, which actually went to a table that arrived after we did. After our food was brought out somewhat later, we didn't see another employee until we left. There were only six people eating in the restaurant, and it looked like there was one employee for each person. They could have done a better job. I feel bad for the owner, I doubt they'll be in business...
