The establishment was not busy when we arrived around 9 p.m. on a Saturday night. It was my first visit. Haley our waitress was overly attentive and visited our table every 2 minutes to check on us. While I love her enthusiasm and desire to serve us, it was too much. Additionally, I wish she had asked us if it was our first visit and had shared the nightly or weekly specials or had offered some menu recommendations to us. Everyone was super friendly from the door greeter to the wait and kitchen staff. The place was clean and featured a live band. They have a crab leg special that I chose to order. The special includes 1 cluster of crab legs, piece of corn and 2 small potatoes. I only knew about the special because I picked up the flyer while waiting to be seated by the hostess. This special would have been perfect if a sausage piece was also included. The fried shrimp was not cooked hard so I did not enjoy it and the taste was bland and unseasoned. This is a personal preference so I can't really blame the cook staff. However, my sweet potatoe souffle and fried okra were to die for. I thoroughly enjoyed eating both. While the wait staff were friendly, they were bothersome during our date because they continuously interrupted us reaching over us to move items off of our table and even sending our waitress to our table while we were talking trying to enjoy each other during our date. One wait staff person stated that they thought that we might need something and that is why they sent our waitress back to our table when in actuality we didnt and at this point just wanted to be left alone for at least 5 minutes. Because of our over enthused waitress and the constant table clearing from the other wait staff, I opted to end my date early and left with my seafood boil special which I ate at home. My overall experience was okay but could have been much better if the staff had given us a little more space and less interruptions. I felt rushed and left feeling grumpy. In saying all of this, I still opt to give 4 stars because my complaints are minor coaching and training issues that can be easily fixed by management. I still recommend this establishment because I'd rather have over enthused wait staff versus complacent rude wait...

Talk about a Hidden Gem!!! This place is awesome.

I was in the area with a friend who flew in and we wanted to try somewhere new. I discovered this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try.

Upon walking in you notice the simple yet inviting set up of the dining area. The hostess at the stand greeted us with a smile and we were able to be seated immediately. I became even more excited when I noticed the live band setting up. Food and Live Music combined always makes for a good time.

Within minutes of being seated our waitress arrived at our table. She was very pleasant and welcomed us to the establishment. Of course I ordered the sweet tea. She promised me it was homemade so I had to try it… it was well worth the try.

As we reviewed the menu we were provided with a plate of Mini Sweet Potato Corn Muffins (4). Not only is this a great touch from a service perspective, but the flavor is amazing. Not too sweet, not too salty. A perfect blend of sweet, salty, and sweet potato flavor to please the palate. These would pair great with a cup of coffee as well. LoL!

I decided on the Fried Chicken plate with Greens and Sweet Potato Soufflé as my sides. When I tell you this meal was mouth-pleasing and soul-stirring! Oh my gosh. This was what I needed that I didn’t even know I needed.

The chicken was golden fried with true southern charm. The meat was so moist and filling. This is what friend chicken is all about. It is truly the dominant presence on the plate as the presentation captivates the eye while the flavor captivates the taste buds and pleases the soul. Genuine Soul Food!

The Greens were seasoned and paired well with the chicken. They were perfectly tender and hit the spot. The Sweet Potato Soufflé was a nice balance creator as it had just enough sweet to go with the salt provided by the chicken and greens. The added walnuts were a great addition for a texture variation. I would recommend both of these sides.

Overall this was truly a great time. The food was amazing and provided a true foodie focused experience. The band was awesome as well. Great time. Great food. Great experience.

We made a reservation for ten people to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday, as she has faced significant challenges over the past year and we wanted to do something special for her. The food was good, and the drinks were fine. When we requested the waitress to play Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday," she initially said she would check with the manager. However, she returned with the disappointing news that he wouldn’t accommodate our request.

I asked to speak with the manager directly, and when the waitress returned, she informed me that he was too busy to come to our table but would try to make it over if he had time. I noticed a manager engaging with another staff member, so I approached him to inquire about our request and the lack of attention we received. He became defensive and insisted he was busy, stating that the music was on a loop and changing it would take too long.

I expressed my frustration, questioning why he couldn't take a moment to come over and communicate this to us directly instead of us having to repeatedly chase him down. He then claimed he would see what he could do to accommodate our request. I returned to my family to share the update, to my surprise the manager followed me. He insisted he was there to make sure I wasn't putting words in his mouth in regards to our interaction which I found to be very troubling and unprofessional.

To my shock, I later discovered that this individual was one of the owners, which made the situation even more disappointing. This restaurant used to be impressive, but it’s clear that a business's quality is heavily influenced by its ownership and management. Standards must be set from the top down. While our waitress did an excellent job and the food was satisfactory, this experience – shaped by one of the owners – significantly impacted my...

Recently celebrated a birthday here and had a fantastic time! The place was almost empty initially, but it quickly filled up for the Saturday night entertainment. We relished the food, cocktails, and conversation. The laughter and good company made it an unforgettable night. This was our best experience at this place, by far! Appetizers: Calamari and fried green tomatoes 🍅 Entrées: Shrimp 🍤 and grits😋 Cocktails: 🍋 Lemon Drop and an old-fashioned🥃
