Las Delicias Cakes & Deserts — Restaurant in Conyers

I went here to get a cake with short notice because the bakery I wanted was booked due to graduation season. I did read some reviews and they’re close by, (turns out a lot of the reviews are from years back) I explained I needed the cake on Tuesday because it would be used at a photo shoot on Wednesday morning. I sent pictures of what I wanted and discussed icing, flavors and fillings. I ordered the small cake and paid 95.00$ I explained I was open to which ever methods would work as long as the design was clean for the shoot and the cake was good. The design was amazing I was extremely happy with it. When I got home early that afternoon and cut it, the cake was disgusting to the point of only cutting one slice. The fondant was thick like a chocolate bar the cake layers were super thin, It tasted like barely flavored corn bread and was crumbly and dry there were no fresh strawberries inside as requested. When I contacted them they explained the baker didn’t speak fluent English and I shouldn’t have placed the fondant in the fridge overnight that the fondant was the cause of the awful taste, and they are sorry for not letting me know about the fondant. I happen to be someone who froze the top tier of wedding cake for a year and it was still perfect on our anniversary. Anyway they said all they could do was give me a discount on another cake but please tell me who is spending any more money when the first was not edible? We usually go here and never had any issue until yesterday. Yesterday was our 5 year anniversary and we wanted some goodies and fruit. My hubby went in and aseen the fruit there and asked for 3 orders of fruit but 1 just watermelon and we were gonna get an esquite well the girl goes to the back and tells some other lady and she says tell them there is no more and the lady came our from the back took the fruit that was there and said the fruit was already sold . It was unprofessional and we didn't appreciate that especially whenever we go there we have never had any issue. That definitely made us never want to go there...

Las Delicias Cakes and Deserts in Conyers is awsome. They are friendly, patient, informative, prompt and have a very talented cake decorator. This was my second year ordering three tear cakes, and they are the best. Both times I provided pictures of a cake. The (Sweet 16 Birthday Cake) and the (Quinceanera Birthday Cake).
