I was very excited to have found a steak place near home that looked promising and I was waiting for the right opportunity to go for dinner and drinks. This weekend, in the middle of the day and running errands, we found ourselves looking for a place to have a late lunch (linner, as we call it) and decided to give Wolf's a try. I know it would have been best to go on a Friday night for dinner but we really wanted to try it. Also, the menu looked interesting and had a few options for a quick bite. We ordered drinks to start. (I know, lunch and hard liquor!). My husband got an old fashioned and I got the Strawberry mule. They were good, I'd say probably average. Given the high price I think I prefer to order wine or beer next time. We followed that with two appetizers; the bang bang shrimp and the beef carpaccio. I have to say the shrimp was stellar -it was crispy, a bit spicy and the sauce was creamy but not overpowering. It came with a few, very delicately pickled vegetables that were the perfect touch for a plate that is usually on the heavy side. The beef carpaccio was really good. I'd say it was a very small portion compared to what I am used to getting in other restaurants but it was good quality and it came with nice fresh arugula, which I love and a perfect parmesan crisp to give it that salty, crunchy touch we all love. To finish, we shared their signature burger. The meat was good, juicy and flavorful even though it was served well done instead of medium as we asked. The bun was a delicious toasted and buttered brioche. The only negative was the toppings were all over the place; it had all the servings of a backyard burger (tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, raw onion and cheddar cheese) and also had bacon, caramelized onions and mushrooms. We ordered the waffle sweet potatoes with it. Those were very good; they came with a side of marshmallow dip (again, too many different flavours in one dish). I think this burger has the potential to be amazing but it's a bit of a confused sandwich right now. Last but not least, service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and sweet. In general Wolf's seems like a good addition to the area. We definitely want to come back for dinner and a proper...
Read moreThis past weekend me and my boyfriend visited Wolf's Steakhouse not once but twice! From the moment you walk in, you're met with welcoming enthusiasm and a smile. The decor and personal touches make you feel like you have been transcended into a beautiful dining scene out of a movie.
The customer service was exceptional and far exceeded my expectations. We ordered calamari to start and the entree consisted of a Bone-in Ribeye with fresh veggies, mac and cheese, shrimp scampi and onion rings.
The bread served before the food melted in my mouth. The calamari was cooked perfectly! The steak was flavorful and cooked almost to perfection. Now let's talk about the mac and cheese. The creamy decadent macaroni has officially topped my list as best mac and cheese I have EVER had!
I actually added my scrimp scampi to the mac and cheese and the flavor intensified! Pure satisfaction!
We then dined Saturday morning for brunch and OH ME, OH MY! THE YUMMINESS! We ordered the Chicken Biscuits with Bacon Jam, Chicken & Waffles and Banana Fosters French Toast!
The chicken biscuits are slap your mama good! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right! The bacon jam was the perfect addition to the airy biscuit. Now I will say the chicken served with the waffles did not have the same taste or cook. I think the chicken used for the biscuits would be a better choice for the waffles but regardless it was still yummy. The waffles were crisp and fluffy with maple syrup drizzled all over.
Let's get into the french toast. Can we say EXTREMELY SCRUMPTIOUS! My only gripe is when I think bananas foster, I think bananas that have been cooked in butter and brown sugar creating a yummy sauce. These Banana Fosters French Toast came with chopped banana and strawberries. I really enjoyed them but was really looking forward to the original banana fosters taste. Now I did omit the walnuts because I'm not a fan but that shouldn't have effected the end result.
With that said I give Wolf's Steakhouse a 9/10. Keep up the great work! Your staff is amazing and the food beyond scrumptious. You will...
Read moreI am disappointed with the customer service that I received at Wolf's Steakhouse last night. I placed a take-out order for a well-done burger but upon arriving home, I discovered that the burger was quite undercooked. When I called to ask for a replacement burger, the employee told me that the kitchen would be closing soon and therefore would not replace the burger even though I called almost 30 minutes before they closed. The employee did not offer an apology or any form of compensation for the mistake. Instead he quite dismissively said that I should come by the next day to replace the burger.
Because of his dismissive attitude, I drove back to Wolf’s immediately for a refund. I explained the situation to the server who helped when I first picked up the burger and then the same employee who answered the phone, overheard the conversation and came up to me (and in the same dismissive attitude) asked for my receipt so he could give me a refund. Still no apology. He told me his name was John and seemed to be a manager at Wolf’s. The server Limarys was excellent because at that point she apologized for the mistake and seemingly for John’s customer service skills, which in my opinion sucks.
I understand that mistakes happen, but it is important to me that they are acknowledged and addressed in a satisfactory manner. In this case, I was disappointed with the lack of apology and the lack of effort to adequately resolve the issue. The standard of care at Wolf’s where a burger costs $19 should not be the same as a McDonalds or Burger King where a burger costs $2.
Hopefully in the future, Wolf's will prioritize customer satisfaction and provide better...
