K.H Donuts — Restaurant in Copperas Cove

Went in today and placed a large order to take to my son's daycare and a couple for me and my older son. Used to come in all the time noticed a new face and talked with the owner who just took over late summer 2017. I also noticed the kolaches didn't look great but decided to go ahead since I had already placed the order an hour earlier. Got in my car handed my son his kolaches and took off. Didn't get 100 feet before he told me it tasted bad and looked at mine that I just took a BITE of and saw the MOLD ON THE BOTTOM OF IT!!!! I turned right around and took everything back and got a refund. I was nice but she looked to be in tears when I left. Went to Shipley's paid more and got some delicious food immediately that was worth it. I'M GLAD I DIDN'T TAKE THESE. They weren't good even besides the mold. Don't go here, it's not like it used to be!! You will be disappointed, kolaches don't mold overnight. I honestly can't believe this place has recent 5 stars. Today was the first and last time I ever try this doughnut shop. A coworker brought in about 2 dozen doughnuts for everyone this morning. Most of the doughnuts were good, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that, ALL the chocolate doughnuts tasted of acetone (fingernail polish remover). I don't know if someone just got their nails done and wasn't wearing gloves, or if something went wrong with the dough or frosting. But I was given a small piece from another coworker, just to see if they did taste funny. Let me tell you after two little bites it was as though my mouth were on fire. My bottom teeth and tip of my tongue started to tingle. Something went horribly wrong. The coworker who brought them in went back to the shop to complain, and the employee swore up and down that no one else had an issue this morning. However, I'm sure other people probably couldn't have left work to address this issue. This is a serious health concern, and I hope that if other people had this issue they bring it to the...

Update: Change from 5 to 2 star. Went back last month and got 2 sprinkles and 2 cake donuts and a spinach kolache. The spinach kolache was amazing and kept the rating from being one star. The donuts on the other hand were disgusting. I took one bite of my cake donut and spit it out. It had the most awful chemical flavor. First time in my 36 years being alive I've spit out a donut and refused to eat it. I even asked my husband to try making sure it wasn't just me. He spit it out too. Kids sprinkled didn't taste as bad, but still that weird taste. I called to let them know and staff proceeded to tell me that they tasted fine this morning. :( I didn't even want a refund or anything I just didn't want them to sell nasty donuts. Never going back again. It's a shame too we loved this place and that spinach kolache was so good.
