My boyfriend and I decided to try this place when we were taking our friend out for a birthday lunch whom lives in the Miracle Mile area. He had never tried this spot either and we were all excited after seeing the rave reviews on Yelp. Pummarola's definitely lived up to expectation with their phenomenal wood fire food and exceptional service! This restaurant is pretty small and even when going on a weekday for lunch, we had to wait a small moment to grab a small table in the back. I could definitely see this place getting jam packed during popular hours so just try to keep this in mind!
We ordered various menu items all to shared as listed: Rustica Pizza $10.50: tomato sauce, pancetta, crispy rosemary, potatoes, smoked buffalo mozzarella Crema di Tartufo Pizza $10: mushroom cream, Italian ham, mushrooms, mozzarella Chicken Pesto Calzone $9.50 Pesto Gnocchi $8.50 Burrata & Prosciutto di Parma $10
All the food was absolutely incredible and had authentic Italian written all over it! The pizzas are recommended as personal pizzas but I'd say that one is enough to share with another person or you could buy one, taking your leftovers home for a full meal later. Their burrata was absolutely insane------house made addictive creamy deliciousness even for a lactose intolerant girl like me! The Chicken Pesto Calzone was my favorite just because I had never had one like it in size nor taste! The Rustica Pizza was my favorite out of the pizza we ordered because I could literally eat it everyday of my life--though the Crema di Tartufo was still most definitely excellent. Even my friend who doesn't like mushrooms loved it! We also checked in on Yelp for the free Nutella crepe which blew us away; we really couldn't believe that they give them out for free! I highly recommend this restaurant to those looking for a wonderful pizza or whom work in the area looking to grab an affordable but absolutely tasty...
Read moreToday is the 4th time this week that we have come back to this restaurant. We were so excited to eat here that I told my mom about it who lives in North Carolina and she was excited to try it. Straight from picking her up at the airport, we went here to eat. We showed up at 10:30 and they said it was okay that we could still eat outside. We ordered 2 pizzas a couple of pastas and drinks and they gave us the wrong pizza. They gave us a SPICY salami pizza instead of the pepperoni we requested. I’ve had the pepperoni pizza here already 3 times so once they placed it on the table i immediately noticed it was different. The guy that took our order came out to bring us plates and I asked him if this was pepperoni and he said “no it’s spicy salami.” We told him we ordered pepperoni and he said “not a problem we’ll make you a new one.” 2 minutes later they come out with a piping hot pizza with overloaded cheese and pepperoni and we thanked him. One bite into my slice and I immediately noticed it was very very spicy, mind you I had not even bitten the pepperoni yet. Turns out the reason why it came out so fast, had extra cheese and uncooked pepperoni on it was because they were covering the holes from taking out the spicy salami using the same pizza to give it back to us. We confirmed it with the guy who took the pizza back and he said yes it was true that they just swapped out the salami on the same pizza. They did offer to make a new one but at this point the trust was lost and we didn’t even want it anymore. Unfortunately I have bad allergic reactions to spicy food and with one bite of this pizza my face and neck turned a red, splotchy, and a little puffy. Unfortunately we do not know if we will be returning to this place even though the other times we have eaten here the...

I will say the food here is good, so good that it’s my 4th visit in a single week. My daughter and I enjoyed that it’s walking distance to the house, and that the service was up to par until today. Here is the slip up: Before I even ordered, he already already thought I ordered something. I corrected him, Juan is the the name of the the cashier/server that took the order. We requested a couple of pizzas, and a few different pastas. Before paying, we went over the order and he said Spicy Salami, we said no, it’s pepperoni.
When we got our food, we noticed the pepperoni looked different from the previous days. Juan came out to bring our plates and we asked if it was pepperoni and he said no, it’s spicy salami. He immediately said “no worries, I’ll have them make a new one”. A few minutes later it comes out and again looks different from the prior visits. My daughter who has allergic reactions to spicy foods takes her bite as usual, and boom, immediately mentions the spice and starts getting a reaction. I hate complaining about food, but this time I had to go inside and inquire. I asked if they made a new pizza, he said yes. I asked again, is it a new pizza or did you remove the spicy salami and just add pepperoni, he looked down and said yes that’s what they did, then said he can make a new one.
I told Juan, no, I don’t want another pizza, but that they all need to know that they can seriously get someone sick, and can potentially die from a spice allergy. I don’t think they really cared, so for that I leave the one star review. It sucks because I really liked the place.
I’ll most likely get the generic response from the owner/manager as they leave to others on here. Hopefully they really take note on...
