⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Little Piece of Perú 🇵🇪 in Coral Gables!
If you’re looking for real, authentic Peruvian food, this spot is the real deal. As Peruvians, we’re always trying new places that claim traditional flavors … and trust us, Costazul truly delivers.
We started with the pulpo a la parrilla (grilled octopus), which can easily be a hit or miss… but here, it was a total hit, it was truly outstanding. Perfectly grilled, super tender, and packed with rich, smoky flavor. You could tell it was cooked with skill and care.
Next came the ceviche mixto, and wow!!! so fresh and perfectly balanced. The leche de tigre had just the right amount of “picante”, and the mix of textures and flavors was exactly what you hope for in proper Peruvian ceviche…bold, refreshing, and full of character.
Finally, we shared the jalea mixta, which brought everything together. Crispy, golden seafood served with salsa criolla and full of that unmistakable Peruvian flavor. It was generous, well-prepared, and tasted just like home.
We also had the chance to meet Luz, the Peruvian chef, and wow, what a talent. She’s originally from the north of Peru, and if you’re Peruvian, you know there’s no better place for seafood than the northern coast. I don’t know how many times we had to tell her what a great cook she is… again, when you’re Peruvian, you just know. She truly has blessed hands and delivers the genuine taste of northern Peru in every bite.
We also have to give a special shoutout to Enrique, our server. He was friendly, professional, and made great recommendations. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the experience even better.
This is the kind of place that makes you proud to share your culture!!

Read moreWe came to see if they were really worthy of the 5 stars and let me tell you, they absolutely are. From the service to the food our experience was so pleasant that it reminded me of a homemade meal. We started with the mini causas and we particularly loved the crab one. The sizes were also perfect. We had the lomo saltado and the corvina risotto. It was the first time I was asked what term I wanted the lomo cooked and I was pleasantly surprised to see how accurate the term was. The meat was juicy and tender and not overly seasoned. You could taste the the beef and the smokiness in the sauce, just delicious. The risotto was another hit. The depth of flavor and the cooking of the risotto itself were perfect. They serve a full corvina with the dish, fried to perfection and just as impressive as anything we had in this place. The ambiance was very welcoming and the staff truly reminded me of what hospitality should be. This became our favorite Peruvian restaurant and we will...
Read moreFood was overall pretty good but I didn’t find it to be exceptional. With so many Peruvian restaurants in the area, competition is fierce. The Anticuchos appetizer as good but I felt the portion of meat was a bit small and I would have liked the dish to come to the table sizzling in hot oil. We ordered several dishes and appetizers and I can’t say anything stood out to mention. Service was overall good and management was onsite to assist with anything that was needed. I ordered the happy hour drink and the server told me both drinks on the 2x1 had to come out together, which I found to be odd. But I did pay in cash and had my 10 years old daughter count the money. The server came back and said I had given an extra $20 bill, so I find the honesty and integrity to be high. Great location to sit outdoors but somebody needs to remove guests that bring barking dogs. For me the food was overall average and I don’t think I will...
