Really great sandwiches (edit: OVERHYPED). Fresh and huge! If you have a big appetite, you will be satisfies after one of these sandwiches. I have come back several times and they have some great combos. My only real critique is I think there can be a better balance with some of the flavors. I’ve had some that were too sweet, and some that needed a hit of acid or salt, an aioli maybe, or even a little bit of hot peppers or even top with black pepper, to contrast and enhance some of the other flavors. They do have add-ons options when I went for delivery. Also an option to panini-fy (is that a word?) your sandwich since some are very tall and having a more compact, melty package as an option would be enticing. Try it! (Look for the red door in the apartment community parking lot.)
Edit Review Update: I’ve had sandwiches from here several more times since I wrote my initial review. For such a high price sandwich, I would hope to have my simple modifications that cost extra, added to my sandwich. The last 3 times the extra ingredients including the hot pepper spread was missing. These were all extra $$. In addition, the last 2 times my sandwich was BURNT and the sugars from the balsamic got caramelized and it had this weird overall super sweet flavor. I’m disappointed because the prices seem to keep climbing and people are raving about this place yet they have no consistency. Overly sweet sandwiches, overpriced, your modifications wont be listened to and your money will be further wasted. On top of that I tipped extra (prepaying online) for improperly made sandwiches. Add chips and a drink and you have a $30 burnt sandwich? Sorry this is not how premium sandwich...
Read moreGreat sandwiches but horrible customer service. First timer really looking forward to ordering a few sandwiches to try out. They have 12 different delicious sandwiches to choose from and none were available because they were only making a select five because they were busy. I feel that’s something they should have somehow announced, especially after waiting 15-20 minutes to place your order. When I finally agree to order the sandwich I wasn’t planning on ordering, I asked if they would swap out the Mortadella for the prosciutto and was told no, but then said, for an additional $4.99 they would do it. The sandwich was already $18, I couldn’t order the one I wanted, and then I couldn’t swap out for the meat I wanted - So it made it harder to spend $23 on a sandwich I wasn’t planning on ordering to begin with. It’s not like I was asking for extra meat. The fact that they had limited sandwiches to chose from, they should’ve been more flexible. Sandwiches here are not premade, they are made to order. I would’ve left a happy customer with a simple, reasonable request, especially when you’re not paying $10 for a sandwich. While I was there, there was also a customer who asked to swap breads and they told her no. She even offered to pay extra and still no! The girl at the register was a sweetheart trying to please her customers asking for the requests to the apparent manager(tall guy with beard) who would just say no. It’s too bad you can’t get the whole package here because...
Read moreWay overpriced for what it is. $20 to $30 for a sandwich that contains 4oz of meat, really? It barely feeds one. $6 for small water? It was good, but far from being great.... I was just in NYC, where they pay a bit more rent than Jholano does for their ground floor back alley, in the back of a parking lot. I got an Italian sandwich with a full inch of filling inside for $20. Katz deli will sell you their pastrami sandwich (which contains well over half a pound of meat and feeds two), the best pastrami in the world that they make themselves, plus give you a free sample of meat, plus an entire plate of homemade pickles, all for $24.99. The world famous All' Antico Vinaio in Manhattan charges way less for their sandwiches than these guys do and they have more meat inside...... The Jholano owners are great at marketing themselves on the internet, but they don't know how to price or make a truly great sandwich. I also don't appreciate getting asked for a tip when I'm buying a takeout sandwich to eat elsewhere. Oh yeah, they have some picnic tables outside, where you can enjoy your lunch sandwich in the 95° Miami heat and high humidity. I'd rather take out and eat in the car.......Sorry, I felt ripped-off and won't...
