Sushi Sake UM — Restaurant in Coral Gables

Leaving this review as I walk out the door on Tuesday, Sept 3, 2024. This is absolutely the worst food I have ever had at a sushi restaurant. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and received about. 3oz glass. The waiter told me it was “the end of the bottle.” The wine he brought me was not even on the menu so I had no idea what the cost was and was told that none of the wines they had in stock were on the menu. I ordered a special “Pineapple Rice” that was supposed to have steak, chicken, and shrimp and it has 1 shrimp and a few small pieces of chicken. As I was walking to the restroom, I saw the chef dumping all the rice from a plastic tub, that was previously cooked, onto the grill. And to top it all off, I asked for a side of Ponzu and I was charged $1.00 for the side! I would rather have gone to McDonalds than eat at this place! I asked to speak to the manager, apparently her name is Gabby, as she is at home pregnant and can’t be at her stores. This was by far the WORST experience I’ve had at a Sushi Sake location. I ordered takeout and got a Bobby Salad and the Crispy Tuna Rice. While the Bobby Salad was fine, the tuna on the crispy rice had a noticeably foul smell — definitely NOT FRESH and honestly inedible. This is absolutely disgusting and can cause anyone to get food poisoning or even worse. To make matters worse, when I called to explain the situation and asked if I could at least exchange it for another Bobby Salad (since I was told refunds aren’t possible), I was told the staff would need to speak to the owner of the location... I’m still waiting on a resolution. Therefore, I will be calling my bank for a refund because this was absolutely absurd. Horrible food, horrible service, and horrible location! Spider roll was too fishy. Didn’t taste like spiders at all! . I ate it because I was hungry. Service was so slow, and the waitress kept Forgetting stuff. My friends got some other rolls and they were sub par. Bugs flying around. Bathroom sink clogged and backing up. This place needs more staff and fresher food. Service was slower than it should’ve been for the amount of people. Had to wait 15 min for a glass of wine. Server forgot my spicy mayo twice. Some other reviews on here seem fake.
