In the culinary heart of Coral Gables, a place renowned for its refined elegance and gastronomic creativity, The Eating House stands out as a beacon of innovative dining and impeccable service. This past visit has firmly established it as one of the area's premier dining destinations, deserving of a resounding five-star review. From the moment our expanded party of eight was graciously accommodated despite our original reservation for six, it was clear that The Eating House prioritizes customer satisfaction and flexibility. The staff handled our adjustment with such professionalism and warmth, seamlessly integrating our additional guests into the bustling atmosphere without a hitch. The ambiance of The Eating House is nothing short of phenomenal. It strikes a perfect balance between sophisticated and welcoming, with a vibrant energy that's infectious but never overwhelming. This ambiance creates a backdrop that enhances the dining experience, making each meal feel like part of a special occasion. The interior design, with its thoughtful, modern touches, complements the overall atmosphere, providing a visually stunning space that’s both stylish and comfortable. Now, onto the culinary delights that make The Eating House a must-visit venue. The menu is a masterpiece of creativity and flavor, with dishes that showcase a bold and innovative twist on traditional cuisine. The platter sizes are particularly impressive, generous without sacrificing quality or presentation. Each dish that arrived was a visual feast, matched by an explosion of flavors that spoke to the chef's skill and attention to detail. The ingredients were fresh, each component thoughtfully curated to create a harmonious blend of tastes and textures. The drinks menu at The Eating House deserves a special mention. Each cocktail was crafted to perfection, with a unique blend of flavors that were both refreshing and memorable. The drink selection complemented the food wonderfully, featuring a mix of classic concoctions and inventive new favorites that were a hit at our table. The bartenders clearly take pride in their craft, and it shows in the quality of their creations. Dining at The Eating House is an experience akin to attending a gala of gastronomy and hospitality. Every aspect of the restaurant, from the accommodating nature of its staff to the exquisite food and the enchanting ambiance, combines to create an unparalleled dining adventure. It's a place not just to eat, but to celebrate food, enjoy great company, and indulge in an evening that promises to be as delightful as it is delicious. In conclusion, The Eating House in Coral Gables is more than deserving of its stellar reputation and high praise. For anyone looking for a dining experience that impresses on all levels—food, service, ambiance, and value—I cannot recommend The Eating House enough. It's a gem within the city, perfect for those who appreciate the art of fine dining in a setting that's both elegant and exhilarating. Thank you, The Eating House, for a memorable evening that will undoubtedly lead to many more.

In case you missed it, Eating House 2.0 is now open on Giralda. This revamped version features a full bar and the beloved quirky food mash-ups that have captured your heart over the past decade. Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli has grown and evolved, and it’s evident in the new menu offerings. Prepare to indulge in dishes like Yellowfin Tuna Crudo with black truffle leche de tigre, twice-cooked Cauliflower with lime ‘beurre blanc,’ and an updated version of the classic Carbonara with a truffle twist. While we’re excited about the new menu, we understand the sentimental value of your first visit to Eating House. That’s why they’ve introduced the Tasting Miami Menu, which allows you to relive that memorable experience from the original Ponce location. The Tasting Miami menu pays homage to the original Eating House concept and evokes the same indulgent feeling you had when you first stepped into the old cozy dining room while at the same time, it pays respect to legendary Miami eateries. Available from Tuesday to Thursday, this five-course menu is priced at $59 per person. So what’s on the menu? Let’s take a culinary journey. We begin by paying our respects to Christy’s with Rapicavoli’s twist on a classic: Wagyu Beef Tartare tossed in Caesar dressing. Next, we bring you a taste of Sports Grill, Eating House style with seasoned Grilled Carrots. Trust, once you try these carrots you won’t miss the waffle fries with cheese for one second. As you progress through the menu, you’ll notice Chef’s deep knowledge of Miami’s iconic spots. He pays homage to legendary establishments like Tropical Chinese and Casa Larios. Another highlight is the Pincho Man, inspired by one of Miami’s original food trucks located off the Palmetto Expressway in Hialeah. This dish is a short rib “Pincho” with gruyere, mojo, and crisped potatoes. What’s a visit to Eating House without dessert? Take a trip west on the Palmetto to Westchester and indulge in the Palace 18, featuring Cry Baby Creamery popcorn ice cream, butter and meringue. Alternatively, try our personal favorite, the Versailles. These Potato Buñuelos are accompanied by a cafe con leche condensada that one of our tablemates may have drank as a shot. We didn’t blame him. It was that good. Keep in mind that the Tasting Miami menu rotates monthly, so make sure to visit soon to savor these dishes before the new lineup arrives. Don’t miss the opportunity to embark on a playful and nostalgic culinary journey while paying homage to Miami’s legendary spots that only true enthusiasts know and love. We love a throwback! Tang mimosa, anyone?

We were treated by our children to a five course dinner at the Eating House for our 44th wedding anniversary. Our reservations were for 7 PM and we were seated promptly. It was fairly empty but quickly filled up by around 8 PM . The setting is very modern, spacious, and elegant. There is plenty of space between the tables. We were immediately attended and throughout our dinner Patrick was always available. We had a Cabernet Sauvignon and a red blend, both of which were very good. We had three appetizers. The first one was dinner rolls with brown butter. They were delicious. Next we were served tuna tartare. This was served with a large cracker. The combination was tasty and played well together. Finally, we were served watermelon chunks and Burrata. These were outstanding. They both tasted as if they had just been brought in from the farm. Next we had a filet mignon which was beautifully done and presented. It was perfectly cooked to medium. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes which were light and fluffy. Finally, we had the dirt cup for dessert. This was truly extraordinary and it should absolutely not be missed. It's a mix of hazelnut, chocolate and other sweets which was delicious. The chef, Giorgio, joined us for a few moments. He is, rightfully, extremely proud of his work. All throughout, the service was excellent and the ambience remained fairly quiet even though things got really busy by around 8 PM. Summarily, our experience at The Eating House was one which we will never forget. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary.

I was really looking forward to eating here and was disappointed with the experience. There were no vegetarian entree options, so we ordered small plates. The house-made stracciatella with romesco, the Brussels sprouts salad, and the mushrooms tasted the best; in particular, the textures were great. The cauliflower was bland and over-sauced and the tuna crudo was completely slathered with a dark gray sauce (truffle leche de tigre-- sounded so tasty but it overpowered the fish). We had the potato beignets for dessert, and they were very salty. We love a sweet-and-salty dessert but these were just not balanced in flavors, even with the presence of the ice cream. We tried three different cocktails and all were just "meh", which was really surprising. We ended up switching to beer/wine for our second round. But the really bad part of the visit was how unknowledgeable the serving staff were. There are some unusual ingredients that require explanation for people who are unfamiliar with them (including our dining companion) and I was shocked when we were told the wrong thing in several instances and I had to pull up the correct description on my phone just to sort out the confusion. Additionally, the person serving the Brussels sprouts told us the topping was black pepper so we tried to scrape some of it aside only to discover that they were black bread crumbs. Worst of all was our waiter. He was creepy and intrusive. No matter how animated our conversation, he had to insert himself over some minor matter and then not. go. away. He'd just give us a googley-eyed stare. Also, he seemed to make a point of not writing down our order but then would go away and come scurrying back to interrupt us again to ask what we had ordered. He did this with both food and drinks. While the design of the restaurant is terrific, staff need to be better educated on the menu as well as principles of good service. Food and cocktails also need to be reviewed to bring flavors into a...
